A – black with a short, brown head

S – roasted malts, faint spice, a hint of coffee

T – creamy, rich, roasted malts, faint coffee—dessert, much like a biscotti

M – smooth, full bodied, perfectly carbonated

This is a deliciously balanced beer. It’s rich, complex, and smooth. It accomplishes exactly what the name indicates – a biscotti. This would make a perfect after dinner beer or a great cold weather beer. Either way it is well worth a try.

Evil Twin beers are always expensive....so let's see how good this is.

This one pours out an extremely dark, pitch black with about 2 fingers of a deep roasted, tan head.

The aroma is pretty intense. There is a ton of dark chocolate notes along with fresh roasted coffee. There are big roasted notes with some caramel and toffee sweetness and a hint of vanilla in there too.

The flavor is bittersweet dark chocolate upfront with a good amount of a sweet milk chocolate. There is a huge wave of fresh coffee in there too and you can almost taste the coffee beans. The roasted notes are all throughout the beer, but especially linger on the finish. To balance out all the bitterness there are some toffee and caramel notes too.

The body is pretty light for the style, only medium and the mouthfeel is creamy. The ABV isn't detected on the nose or aroma, but damn there is some heat going down.

This is fantastic stuff. It marriages bitter and sweet so that neither dominate and make this hard to drink and it goes down super smooth for such a high ABV. Worth trying for sure!
