A - black with a thin brown head that has little retention

S - faint roasted malts, light citrusy undertones

T - roasted malts, blood oranges, faint citrus, a hint of chocolate

M - medium bodied, crisp, decent carbonation

I was hoping for something a bit unique here, but ultimately this tastes more like a light porter. There are some faint citrusy notes thrown about with a light stout-y flavor profile. This is ultimately forgettable. I won't be having this again.

In a pint glass this beer was black in color with a small light brown head.

Mostly a chocolate aroma, some roasted malt. Citrus also.

More taste than the aroma suggested. A lot of chocolate, a hint of coffee. The citrus aroma translated into orange and tangerine. Sweet.

Smooth and fruity. A great dessert beer.

Served from bottle into a COAST Willi. Poured a massively dark brown with a one finger brown head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, roasted malt, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, dark fruit, and subtle orange peel. The flavor was of sweet malt, roasted malt, dark chocolate, orange, citrus, and orange rine. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. I was really hoping to see more of the orange on the nose of this one, however, the roastiness really overpowered it for me. On the flavor though the orange stole the show. You start out with a decent stout and then are just overcome with orange. Almost too much. Worth trying if you have the chance to do so, but not one of my favorite offerings from Evil Twin.

A: Pours a very dark brown, almost black. Huge and dense brown head. Looks like a much heavier beer than 5.8%. Fades slowly, leaving no lacing oddly enough. Maybe a spot here and there.

S: Coffee and bitter chocolate primarily. There might be the slightest touch of orange peel but it could just be the power of suggestion.

T: There's the orange. Lots and lots of dry, bitter orange peel up front. Fades into a very bitter coffee and chocolate roasted malt character in the middle. As the roasted malt fades into the finish, the orange is back, tart this time, like orange juice. Lingering mild roasted malt bitterness between sips.

M: Nice medium body, slick. Not bad for 5.8% at all.

O: Not a bad brew, just simple. Strong and bitter roasted malt with a bit of orange, that's all. Very tasty and feels a lot bigger than it is. Just simple, which hurts the scores a bit.

A: Pours an opaque jet black in color with some very faint highlights of dark brown at the edges of the glass when held up to the light. The beer has a finger tall mocha head that reduces to a small patch of thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of dark roasted malts (almost burnt) and roasted coffee with just a slight hint of smokiness. There are lighter notes of bitter orange (like from the orange rind) that become apparent as the beer warms up.

T: Moderate flavors of dark roasted malts and roasted coffee upfront. After that, there are light notes of bitter orange in the finish. Moderately bitter but still enjoyable.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: I like the addition of the orange to the stout - makes me think of the dark chocolates that have candied orange rind in them... Easy to drink and happy that this one got located and tried.

A: The beer is jet black in color and poured with a half finger high tan head that gradually died down and left wispy lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: There are aromas of dark malts in the nose along with some hints of cocoa. As the beer warms up, some orange peel becomes detectable.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and also has some flavors of coffee. Hints of orange peel become noticeable towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a bit light and airy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I thought that this beer was rather enjoyable since it still tastes like a stout because there are only subtle hints of orange towards the finish.
