"The first batch made of this was in fact 10% abv. That batch was made last winter and only sold in europe. I then changed the recipe to 8% to lighten it and make it easier to drink. That is what the beer will be from now on and the bottles in the US are the 8% version."

Comes out looking like the color of a peach. It's a light, orangey brown color. Enough stuff in it that it's opaque. The head is what held the score down a little. It's very fleeting. If you blink, all you see is a thing ring of white around the edge and a tiny bit of lace.

The smell is a bit strange. You'd guess it to be extremely hoppy with citrus, and that's there, but there's also an overwhelming malt flavor that I can't quite put my finger on.

The taste is similar in that there's a hoppy citrus presence, but a very malty backbone as well, maybe too malty. Despite this, the flavors are all a bit thin.

While the taste and smell were a bit unique, the mouthfeel was about what you'd expect. Slight fruity sweetness up front, followed by a gradual building of the hoppy bitter. There's still a subtleness to it all, kind of a watery, loose feel. Medium bodied, it's got a lingering bitterness that coats your tongue and lasts well into the swallow. It's not a palate-wrecker, so it's fairly easy to drink.

Overall, it's kind of a strange beer. Reminds me of a black IPA, where things just don't quite agree with me. This isn't a bad beer, just something I need more than one of to develop a liking for. I've got another 500 ml in the cellar, so maybe the next one will be better.

Pours a hazy orange-ish color with an off white head. In the aroma, orange citrus rind hops and a note of gingerbread like maltiness. In the taste, orange citrus rind hops, gingerbread like malt, and a small alcohol presence. A mellow hop bite, and a medium bodied mouthfeel, with a lightly dry orange juice citrus, small gingerbread malt and a touch of alcohol. Big hops, somewhat malty, and a note of alcohol all the way through.

Found this in the back of the fridge after Christmas...guess we had more than enough to review at our annual winter brew tasting and bakeoff party.

Nice unfiltered yellow orange in the glass.

On first sip immediately hit by the resinous piney hops. Some citrus in there and a bit sweet. A really nice, balanced IPA2. This would have been in the top 5 at the tasting...

When I went to City Beer to get some more, the guy sold me the "all Occasion" which is brewed in Scotland not Denmark. Since I had them a week apart, they are similar but the BDA seemed a bit more complex to me.

A - Hazy amber-orange with a finger of frothy slightly off-white head. Fades at a normal pace.

S - Grapefruit, pine, grassy, orange, tropical hops, sweet caramel and biscuit malts, a hint of booze.

T - Grapefruit, orange, pineapple, tropical, pine, grassy, floral hops, resiny bitterness, sweet caramel and biscuit malts, some light booze.

M - Medium-full bodied, moderate carbonation. Smooth with a dry and bitter finish.

D - Nicely balanced hoppy DIPA. Great hop profile and bitterness from start to end.

Poured into a Dogfish Head pint glass. Pours a hazy pumpkin orange amber. One finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly to a thick film, but left a lot of lacing. Aroma of citrus and a bit of piney hops, grapefruit, light sweet malt. Flavor dominated by citrus and piney hops, an interesting and unfamiliar hop profile that I liked quite a bit. After my hop detecting taste buds were numbed by the (delicious) hop assault, the caramel malt flavors became more apparent. An interesting flavor progression of intense herbal hops followed by malt and finishing with flavorful bittering hops and a long hop aftertaste. Body is medium with a pleasant creaminess. Very enjoyable and well made IPA that I hope I can budget to have again. This was an excellent beer to commemorate my 1000th review. Woot!

A: Pours a very hazy dark orange to copper in color. The beer has a finger tall white head that is made up of large bubbles and reduces to a thick film covering the entire surface of the beer with a medium sized thick patch and a thick ring near the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: The aroma is pretty strong and dominated by the citrus hop presence - grapefruit is the dominant hop with a lighter amount of orange as well.

T: Moderate caramel malt sweetness with a very strong flavor of citrus hops - grapefruit and orange are both present. Light amounts of lingering bitterness.

M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light dryness in the finish.

O: Very enjoyable and a great combination of different citrus hop flavors and smells. Easy to drink and one I would love to have some more glasses.

A: The beer is very hazy yellowish orange in color. It poured with a half finger high dense off white head that hardly died down.
S: There are aromas of citrusy hops in the nose—grapefruit seems to stand out in particular with some notes of orange.
T: Like the smell, the taste is dominated by flavors of citrusy hops but also has a noticeable presence of underlying caramel malts, especially given its high alcohol content. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has nice hop aromas and flavors but is easy to drink because the alcohol is well hidden and it isn’t overly bitter.

A - Nice retention and lace on a white head. Mixed bubble structure. Opaque body with chunky sediment even after giving it a few days to rest.

S - Smooth pine, spruce, thyme, and floral hops with an apricot sweetness.

T - Orange and apricot open for a bright bitter center of herbal and woody hops. Sweet honey finish with a lingering bitter character.

M - Full to style with nice carbonation.

O - Aggressively bitter with a profile that complements it beautifully.

500ml bottle into a tulip glass. There was a bottled on date perhaps but it was mostly rubbed off.

Appearance: Poured a slighty hazy and glowing orange with a big two finger white foamy head. Excellent retention and lacing all the way down.

Aroma: Grapefruit citrusy hops. Some piney resin. Mostly dominated by the tropical fruit aromas.

Taste: Grapefruit-y and tropical hops bitterness. Slight sweetness. A touch of pine resin. Some biscuit malts for a little balance. Pretty good.

Mouthfeel: Medium body and carbonation. Lingering grapefruit citrus bitterness. Easy and tasty. Would be enjoyed by any hop head.
