This is a spot for cheap beer, their stuff is inexpensive though it was essentiall the house brands and not a large selection of other distributors. Variety - different styles are here. I was told to go to Mass. for their Unibroue contracted Belgians. At least that is a level of service above zero, something for supermarkets. Good for all the food accompaniments for beer.Very central to downtown and easy to get to from all over. Decent supermarket representation. Its Worth a visit if never been.

Trader Joe's is not a bad place to find the beer you might be looking for. Whether it is something at a macro level to the local brews, there's a good chance you'll find it here or at least at the one here in Portland, ME.
A/Q: The atmosphere, when I walk in the beer section, is pretty good. Though I am in a grocery store, I still feel I am able to get a good feeling when I am in the beer section. This leads to the quality, some of the rarer brews one might be looking from a certain company could be found here. I bought Smuttynose's Farmhouse Ale and I couldn't actually find it any place else.
S: The service, well, its a grocery store, but actually, since I was really there browsing and not necessarily looking for specific brews, I've never had to ask. The cashiers are always pleasant.
S: The selection is a fair amount of the local brews showcasing some of their rarer stuff. With some macrobrews pushed off to the side, a little extra just helps make it more of a "beer" place.
F/V: I don't buy the food there, and depending upon what you're looking for and the season, you can find some decent prices.
