I guess I'm going against the grain with this one but I try to approach fruit beers as a non-style style (if that makes any sense). Basically, it is what it is. I found Passion Brew to be novel and refreshing. Full rundown follows:

Appearance:
Light straw colour, translucent with a thin white head that thinned out but stuck around for the ride. Left a nice veil of lace once I was done.

Smell:
Faint smell of passion fruit, not much else.

Taste:
Light but pervasive bitterness with a mild hint of passion fruit and slight sweetness. Grassy hops is the most pervasive flavour.

Mouthfeel:
Thin but smooth.

Drinkability:
A great thirst quenching beer with a refreshing bitterness and the novelty of passion fruit. If you are comparing this to "regular" beer you may be disappointed; however, I enjoyed this one.

Good looking beer with a large head that leaves impressive lace all the way. Hazy gold colour. Looks tasty.

Nose is dominated by tart fruit laid over malt. Anything else is lost in there. Sharp mouthfeel from sour fruit. That's followed by a wash of sweetness and then a bitter metallic finish. Reminds me of a raspberry wheat beer or hard cider.

Taste is dominated by fruit with some malt with a bitter, drying malt finish. This beer is all over going from too sweet, to tart, to bitter, to metallic in rapid succession. Interesting to some degree, but ultimately a little offputting. A good try, but not quite there.

Pours a pale golden color with a copious amount of sticky white head. Head evaporates sporadically, leaving a lopsided hill and random bits of lacing.

Scent is slightly malty, with a hint of fruitiness.

Taste follows scent, but better. Some malty characteristic, followed up by a pleasant, slightly sweet fruitiness. No real aftertaste.

Fairly thirst quenching. Would be a bit better if the ,alt flavor was downplayed a bit, letting the passionfruit come through a bit more. Overall, fairly enjoyable.

This is an interesting one for sure, It pours very much like a malty ale with a small but evident white head. Smell is of malt dumbed down by the aroma of passion fruit. Flavor surprisingly isn't that bad. I was expecting something sweeter with a bolder passion fruit flavor, but still the aroma is present and the finish is malty with a touch of hops. This beer is actually quite smooth and not a bad drink.

What this looks like to me is that Heritage tried to make this in the same manner a Pumpkin ale is produced, except using passion fruit instead. It's an interesting attempt and surprisingly it works. However I have found out the hard way that this beer must be served cold, as it warms it becomes rather offensive.

All things considered it's worth trying at least once, even at $5 a bomber.

On-tap at Volo.

This beer pours a clear medium golden hue, with a thin cap of soapy white head, which disappears quickly, leaving a narrow ring of lace around the glass. It smells of sweet lycee fruit, and a bit of dry, spicy white pepper. The taste is floral passion fruit, a bit candy/bubblegum-ish, soft barley grain, and light spicy, earthy hops. The carbonation is on the low side, the body medium weight, fruity, and smooth, and it finishes clean, with some mild fruitiness and subtle pepper.

No prejudice here - this is one fine, refreshing, tasty brew. It really reminds me of a Saison that Alley Kat has done, with the nice fruit and pepper.

Bomber- Pours a pinkish red Kool-aid. Head is fizzy and long lived white foam. Looks like a nice fruit beer. In the nose it is an attack of citrus gone the sweet side. Guava and other tropical fruits with what seems like Belgian candy sugar, and a bit of yeast. Pretty sweet fruity flavours with concentrated passion fruit juice coming through, and there's some slight tart grapefruit nuances as well, but this one is mainly about the sugar attack. The ladies seemed to like it, but I did not.

650ml bottle, how romantic, assuming your significant other drinks beer. Pours a peachy orange with a creamy white head, some lace. Aroma of strong passion fruit and a bit of malt. Taste was sweet passion fruit and grassy grains, rather refreshing actually, no wheat though, I believe it would have helped the body. Mouthfeel was creamy and smooth. This is refreshing, but not something I'd want to drink a lot of.

Pours a hazy pallid straw color with a big rocky head that leaves chunks of foam on the glass. The aroma is of perfumey passion fruit and sweetness, very one dimensional, but pleasantly fruity and natural. The taste is way to sweet, almost to the point of being cloying. There is some citrusy, tropical fruit flavor and a very light malt flavor, and nothing else. The finish is sweet and devoid of balancing bitterness. the mouthfeel kind of reminds me of the syrup in fruit cocktail cups with some fizz.

A very unbalanced fruit beer. No beer taste, but at least it is drinkable (barely).

This bomber has a pretty lable with a big red heart on, just in time for Valentine's day. (I said heart on, get your mind back on beer!)
It poured with low carbonation and low head that disappeared too soon. Colour is pale pink, like a rose wine. Looks like a girly beer.
Smell had the passion fruit at front, low hops. No bitterness.
Taste: Like fruit flavoured ginger ale with beer overtones. A novelty taste, not a serious beer.
Mouthfeel: Like thin syrup or heavy fruit juice.
Drinkability: Easy drink, like soda pop. Maybe with the large size, it's meant to be shared with your significant other. Nice try, but sorry, it doesn't make it on my romance kit list.

Bottle: Poured a light golden color beer with a small bubbly white head with very little retention. Aroma of sweet chemical based syrup is totally dominant and gross. Taste is also dominated by the cough-like syrup and leave place for little else. Body is very thin with little carbonation. The fact that even my wife though this beer was bad is ample proof that no one in the right mind would drink this more then once.

Passion fruit beer eh? I can't say I'm not a wee bit scared... No idea if this will be a regular Valentine's day thing or not.

A - Bomber-style with a big red heart on a black background. Beer is a slightly cloudy pale yellow with a small head that doesn't retain very well. A bright red/pink would have been nice, all things considered. :P

S - Lots of sweet fruitiness. As expected of course.

T - Very sweet, with a touch of bitterness in the finish. I dunno, I guess the extreme sweetness and hops are not really a good combination? It's a little odd tasting. Not awful or anything, but I want this to be tart rather than bitter.

M - Carbonation is OK, but it's a bit syrupy.

D - Not bad. A bit of a novelty brew, but not bad.
