Notes:
Happy birthday to us! To celebrate our first year as a brewery we brewed a serious imperial stout and aged it on cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks, and fresh habanero peppers. This is the first offering in our annual Anniversary series. Here’s to many more!

Black pour with a creamy thick mocha head. Fucking stellar appearance.
Sweet decadent malt aroma. Chile peppers and dark chocolate. Some type of mustyness like an english yeast.
Decadent flavor profile. Licorice comes up first then the peppers. Sweet rich milk chocolate and sweet malt. This is like a sweet non ashy/tar version of hunahpu's. The chile heat comes out more as it warms. Thick-ish mouthfeel. Really nice beer. I would like to see some -bals in this.

Thanks to... I think Andy, at my 30th birthday whale tasting.
Pours a big fizzy fluffy dark head, decent lacing and nice legs.
Nose has cocoa nibs, dusty oak barrel and wooden shelf, light cinnamon, woody esters, hint of dark chocolate and vanilla.
Taste brings sweet chocolate, caramel, dusty oak and wooden shelf, nice light chili pepper heat, little cinnamon again, little soy though too, light bready malts, thick and lush, hot pepper and booze there, syrupy.
Mouth is thick and syrupy, decent carb, some booze and pepper heat.
Overall not bad, decent characters, nice pepper and chocolate, bit of soy though.

Shared by I think Andy at the JLindros Birthday Whale Tasting. Reviewed from notes. Pretty amped I got to try this one. So many trades for one of these have fallen through.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a dark brownish black hue with a one finger khaki head that fades to leave light lacing. Pretty solid.
S - Nice vanilla, chocolate, super light heat. Very, very faint cinnamon and sweeter malts.
T - Taste is more of the light faint head, tons of chocolate. Very nice vanilla, slight chipotle smoke. Fairly malty and sweet. Not getting much cinnamon.
M - Super carbonated, almost distractingly so. Yet some how it is thick and chewy...makes no sense, but it is what it is.
O - Overall glad I got to try this one, finally. Its a damn solid mexican style stout. Would like a bit more spice and cinnamon though.

Thanks to johntangus for this mini growler!
Pours a very dark, oily near black liquid with a dark brown mocha head. Obviously a serious and thick stout.
Smells like sweet rich chewy malt, chocolate cake batter, moderate chili and cinnamon. Mmm.
Yeah this is super malty and rich, pretty sweet with loads of chocolate. Fades into chili and cinnamon and finishes with a fair amount of spice but not as much as Abraxas or Hunahpu's.
Mouthfeel is pretty well carbonated, thick and almost chewy.
This is great! A very different base beer than Abraxas or Hunah's. I imagine the base stout would be pretty great even without the added ingredients.
