Another Polish Baltic Porter thanks to my friend rtepiak!
A: Solid three fingers of mocha colored head. Pours dark brown/black. Retention is very good and lacing is pretty good too.
S: Like the other Polish baltic porter I had, this is very traditional in the world of porters, very far from imperial stouts baltic porter seems mixed with so frequently these days. Very strong smoky and chocolaty character, like a porter should have. Light coffee, licorice, dates, raisins. Quite weak
T: This is quite meaty. It has some sort of grilled meat kind of taste to it. Smoke is more than obvious as well as the blackcurrents, raisins, light dates. Nice amount of acidity, like all baltic porters should have. Nice chocolate and light coffee. Alcohol is present but blends perfectly with the flavors.
M: Medium to heavy feel with medium to low carbonation. Smooth and dry, like a baltic porter should be.
O: This is a really good porter that shows very nicely the traditional character of the style. Superbly balanced and very easy to drink.

Bottle in Warsaw. Can't remember where. From notes.
A - Poured black and opaque with no head and no lacing. Yippee!
S - Picked up some coffee and chocolate mixed together well.
T - Sweet on the tongue. Coffee and chocolate reappear with chocolate winning out slightly.
M - Medium carbonation and a medium body. Slightly dry finish.
O/D - I could have a few. Had some depth and was really nice to drink and went down smooth.

i have had a good couple of these and for the longest time have failed to put it up on BA. A personal favorite when it comes to polish baltic porters. an exceptional baltic tang that still has a rich forest dark berries quality. even after a year of aging the beer was pure black currents, blood, and smokiness malt. a very meaty collection of flavors and great combination for wild boar.
with this fresh bottle i'm have right now. i get a great pour with a distinctly smokey quality. not as acid but there is a balitic zest. molasses formost, which i must say is a bit overwhelming as the bottle ages. black currant and the bacteria quality i only find in wine of decaying vegetables. meaty like a pinot noir. smokey sour and grilled meat.
