Cask. Poured a copper color. Mostly clear. Aroma was a mix of US and UK aspects. Hops were very USA. Oh yeah, need I forget! This was absurdly sulfurous. Yeast and malt profile were more English. The flavor depicted the same thing. A hybrid. It was overall fairly mild but I enjoyed the attempt at blending the two styles. It sort of clashed in certain areas. Light bodied but textured feel.

Clear amber colour, with sweet malt and slight tart cranberry aromas. Crisp and sour throughout; cannot really distinguish any lemon or blackcurrent flavours beyond the sourness/tartness. There's an underlying bitterness present, but neither overwhelming or subtle. Clean finish.

Would I buy this beer again? Probably not.

Pint at the Rake.

S: Amber colour, hazy, small off white head, didn't look very lively.

A: Hints of cranberry and malt but not overly prominent.

T: Some slightly off fruit, more malty than hoppy, seemed stronger than the 4.0%.

M: Sticky, not much carbonation.

O: Nothing wrong but slightly bland and easy to forget.

On cask at the White horse, poured a dark golden color with small head and some lacing. Smells of slight pine, wood, tropical fruit juice, but none of this is all that potent, a bit subdued and not to the beer’s credit. Taste is simialr with the addition of cereal graininess that kind of "Blanded" it down for me. Palate is medium, beer was decent and refreshing, nothing to write home about.

Handpump halfpint at the Rake.

A: Clear pale copper body; thin, sticky, clumpy tan head. Comprehensive lace. Lovely.

S: Buttery pale malt, lightly floral, fruity hops. Ok, but a little boring.

T: Follows the nose - hops up front, buttery sweetness afterward. Dry, bitter finish. A little heavy with the diacetyl for my tastes, and not well balanced with the hops. Still, it's drinkable enough for the style.

M: Medium body, low carbonation. Smooth cask feel.

O: Not bad, not great, and therefore a bit of a disappointment in an interesting pub like the Rake. There are better Bitters.

Cheers!
