Pours out a hazy golden orange with a big white head. Laces nicely.

Big hoppy assault going on here. Hits with fruits(orange, peach, mango) and pine notes. The wood doesn’t hold back either. Plenty of cedar going on here. Some lingering funky brett going on.

It’s got an assertive little bitterness that pops on you. Lighter side of medium body with ample carbonation. Lots of woodiness about it that lingers well into the aftertaste. The alcohol peeks through a tad. Pretty musty with that yeast. Yummy. The hops are there of course lending some pine and lots of orangey fruit flava flaves.

An interesting brew for sure. JK has been releasing a lot of sour limited releases lately so this is a nice change of pace with the big hop load delivered in an unconventional way with cedar and funk.

This is my second bottle of this in some ways I think that's all I need to say on this review as its def in a world of its own but ill explain a little more it pours a slight hazed golden hue with the fluffiest four finger ever rising head and stacks of clingy lacing everywhere absolutely gorgeous looking,the smell is pineapple,piney hops,Brett,funk and citrus beautiful balance,the mouthfeel is medium bodied with minimal carbonation and the taste is sublime with tastes of piney bitter hops,citrus,pineapple,Brett,farmhouse funk a slight touch if cedar and finished with a mandarin and piney hop bitterness and overall I love this drop its in a world of its own and now that I've drank my fair share of it time to try the rest I got left in my fridge cheers.

a cloudy orangey pour with 2 fingers of foamy detergent like white head. smells of cedar (LOVE THIS SMELL), grassy hops, jasmine, brettanomyces typical scents.. this is about to blow my mind i have a feeling. lots of cedar flavor with a hoppy grassy bitterness and a wonderful bretty aftertaste.. lots of lemon/grapefruit citrus notes.. the cedar really makes this beer amazing honestly. medium body with a modest amount of carbonation. really the only thing this could've had to make it better was champagne-like carbonation. honestly, it doesn't make much of a difference in my overall decision to name this as one of my top 10 beers this year.

A - Pours a hazy medium orange with a huge light tan, foamy head with good retention.

S - Brett, hoppy citrus, pine, and some cedar.

T - Lots of Brett, tons of cedar, pine and some citrus. The Cedar really comes out as it warms.

D - Tons of carbonation with a light body.

O - Lots of Brett, more cedar as it warms. Pine Citrus finishes it out.

Thanks to koufax21 for bringing this beer to March Madness 2013. Marquette Elite 8 baby!

Pours out a copper, golden and light orangey type of liquid. Small head on it, 1/3". Aromatics really hit you with the cedar and brett. Pretty nice right there. But wait, there's more! Hops. The hop bouquet seems primarily Cascade. Nice mix going on right there.

Its not quite Bitter Monk territory, but the taste function of the hops, cedar and brett really are enjoyable. Lacks the tartness and overall hoppy nouveau of the Monk, but this one is quite good in and of itself, even if it lacks the aggressiveness of style leader here. This one is more like an ipa than a saison in my opinion.

Mouthfeel had just the right carbonation to let three distinct tastes exist in harmony, nobody muscling the other out. Bitterness just right, plenty of wood, good very dry finish. The mix of cedar wood and pine hop flavor is pretty cool. A peppery edge to it as well.

Pretty complex and enjoyable beer. Screw David Hurley at the El Dorado for flip flopping over their committal to support out bottle share the entire week. I won't be recommending anyone have anything to do with the El Dorado ever again if we're gonna play that way. I give you money, you give me your word, you lie and go back on your word, I'm never going to give you money again.

Support craft beer. Respect craft beer. El Dorado Casino in Reno supports neither. But we did get this beer drank before the dishonesty took hold in a guy in a cheap $79 suit who manages a crappy bar.

Served from bottle into a Jester King goblet (proper). Poured a slightly hazy yellow-orange with a three finger off-white head that grew and eventually subsided to one finger after sitting for quite some time. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, cedar, citrus, funk, and earth. The flavor was of sweet malt, citrus, fruit, wood, earth, and big funk. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. The combination of the cedar and funk was a definite new one on me to this degree especially when mixed with the saison aspect. This made for a quite refreshing brew that was very easy to drink on a nice day of weather in my area. Definitely worth your time.

Much respect to Cvescalante for giving me my first Jester King. Poured into a Dogfish Spiegelau glass.

A- And foam fills up the glass from a soft pour. The body that's visible is a semi-hazy medium golden. As the head descends, a large, flat nipple protrudes and there are cobwebs of lacing surrounding. Eventually, the head settles at an 1/8 inch with various bumps among the surface foam.

S- Delightful cedar aroma wafts out of the bouquet with full force. Upon further sniffs, the Brett is detected and is a beautiful compliment to the cedar...at first. Soon the Brett/cedar combo dive into this odd soapy smell that clashes together. Then comes the alcohol and degrades things even more. Everything combined gives it a very bright aroma but I'm not sure if I enjoy it. The hops lay over all elements in the profile to provide some sort of template for what's going on but it's still not quite balanced. Every sniff tells a different story, so I give it extra points for complexity.

T- Strange. First there's cedar and immediately after comes the Brett funk, then it turns to a tart aftertaste before just cutting off. The hops provide a decent bitterness but the cedar is pretty overpowering and the lingering flavor of the Brett just confuses my palate even further. Alcohol and hops begin to dominate as the beer warms.

M- Dry, with a lasting hop bite. Body's on the lighter side with medium-high carbonation.

O- I don't find it unenjoyable to drink, but it's also not my idea of what a beer aged on cedar should be like. Although it is a creative hybrid of flavors, there's too much going on at once and makes for a frenetic drinking experience. The blurb on the side label had me cracking up though.
