Pours a very nice deep black with some very nice lacing nearly throughout and very nice thick and lasting head. Nice aromas with thick deep roasted malts and just a hint of spiciness, along with a nice hint of bitter from the hops. Excellent flavor with great roasted attributes, an interesting burnt-sugar and raisin undertone, and a very excellent floral hoppiness at the end. Goes down very well for such a high ABV beer, a most excellent old ale, I must say!
