These guys deserve credit for assembling an AWESOME selection of fine craft beers. You wouldn't know it from the unassuming storefront in a suburban strip mall, but this is beer nirvana! They have one of the best selections of bombers in the Twin Cities, well displayed on a lay-down rack and a vertical metal rack. They've got a walk-in beer cave for quantity purchases of cold ones, and a long line of reach-in coolers for four-packs and six-packs. They're stocking the latest from local breweries, including Lucid, Steel Toe, Fulton, Surley, Summit, and others. A great selection, displayed well, priced fairly.

The guys at the Liquor Barrel are great, very knowledgeable! Every time I stop in, they let me know of something new they recently received in and I've yet to be disappointed. They have a great selection of beer and scotch and are make good recommendations in this area as well. A friendly atmosphere and good employees, this is the place I'm referring to when I say "my liquor store".
The Liquor Barrel also has a great website and Facebook page. They keep things up-to-date and I'm alerted to new deals and new specials they have going on. I even got two free tickets to a Twins game one time for being the first to respond to a Facebook post!
A great establishment!

A- A generic liquor store. The walk in cooler is nice. Otherwise it seems like beer is put back in a corner though.
Q- Most of the beers are in coolers. Some are on shelves. The odd thing is there was some dust on some of the beers in the walk in coolers. Not like aged Bigfoot. Like some IPA's. That was kinda odd.
Ser- Friendly, but there has only been surface level efforts to help me.
Sel- A good number of local/regionals. Outside of regionals it was confined to Left Hand, Great Divide, Southern Tier, maybe a couple others and a small number of imports. Still, it's nice to see regional beers.
Price seems above average compared to other beer stores in area.

I have found many of the limited-release locals (Surly, etc.) as well non-local limited bottlings at this store in the Miracle Mile shopping center. They carry a fairly broad array of crafts, most of these are kept in coolers.
I stop semi-regularly just to see what's in stock and generally leave with one or two promising selections that I may not have expected.
I can't speak to their foreign beer selection as I haven't really looked.
The employees are pleasant and say hello. One of the guys..I'm terrible at remembering names.. will typically come back to the craft beer coolers area when I'm there and point out what new crafts have recently arrived and make helpful suggestions.
Craft tastings on some Tuesday evenings. Prices seem to be generally in line with or slightly better than other stores.

The Saint Louis Park Liquor Barrel has an alright selection of craft beer. Seven cooler doors of the usual suspects (Summit, Schell's, Bells, Odells, New Belgium to name a few), and a couple small racks of singles. They don't carry anything special, but in a pinch any BA will find a number of beers to their liking. Freshness and quality have always been good. This place is really close to my apartment, but I rarely shop here for two reasons. First, the service is really bad. None of the employees seem to know anything about any of thing they sell be it beer, wine or liquor. As a whole they also seem to make a concerted effort to ignore all the customers while they are in the store. I've said hello to the clerk upon entering the store a couple of times to which they merely stared at me and said nothing in return. Once an employee made eye contact with me as I walked up to the register then proceeded to put away the rest of the case of wine he was stocking while I waited for two minutes. This kind of service is simply unacceptable. Second, it is a real pain in the butt to get in and out of this location.
