Poured a 12oz bottle into a Sam Adams glass. Poured a nice deep amber with a creamy white head that lasts a while and leaves lacing. There is very little to the aroma aside from a slight sweetness. Taste is pretty much the same, with nothing distinguishing to it and a little bitterness on the finish. Mouthfeel is better, with a little bit of carbonation and a nice smoothness. But pretty bland overall, unfortunately.

Orange amber color. clear. Thin fizzy head.

Sweet, grainy, malty aroma. Faint spicy hops.

A combination of pale and roasted maltiness. Some hop bitterness.

Light bodied, fizzy, with a somewhat dry finish.

This is exactly what I expected in an Oktoberfest from yuengling. Decent beer, not to threatening to light lager drinkers.

A- I poured from bottle to a pint-glass, had a finger head. dissipated slowly.
S- I honestly can't describe the smell of this beer.
T- Creamy, nutty, caramel taste. Very pleasant to me. This may be popular with those who enjoy porters or stouts (which I usually don't).
M- Left behind a nutty/caramel taste that stayed.
O- Overall, I like this better than a lot of other Oktoberfests I've had. Would I buy more than a 6 or 12-pack of this? No. I think it was a good beer considered it was simply a seasonal offering from Yuengling.

i poured this one into a pint glass, It has a brown color body with no head just a very thin lace around the top. The smell is faint of malt. The taste is very sweet malt almost honey sweet. Mouthfeel is watery and light and overall i don't like this one too much .I wasn't impressed at all.

Amber color with off-white head. Limited lacing.

Smell is sweet honey, malt, all-spice and a little pumpking.

Taste is sweet malt up front. Honey and a hint of cinnamon comes through. Minimal bitterness.

Mouthfeel is watery. Very light with medium carbonation.

Overall this was just fair. Woudn't buy this again.

Yuengling Oktoperfest pours a burnt orange color with a finger of head. The aroma is sweetly malty. The taste is kinda like an amped up Yuengling lager actually, especially on the finish where it has a bit of that watery taste. The malts are more full, nuttier, a bit sweeter than the OG Yuengling. The nuttiness is most apparent on the finish. The mouthfeel is light and the drinkability is great. Overall, it's a tasty beer that really is quite reminiscent of the original Yuengling lager.

Poured into a pint glass, the beer is a clear medium amber gold, building a creamy white head, about one and half inches high. It dissipates within a couple of minutes into good lacing on the glass.
The smell is of malt, some banana and bread.
Tasting the beer, the malt and some banana flavors are up front. More malt and some caramel in the middle, and than some faint hops and more malt in the end.
Medium bodied, easy to drink beer. Nothing special, but also not a bad beer!

Thanks to tone77 for this brew! The beer pours a deep copper, dark amber in color. There is a half-inch of thick, somewhat creamy, off-white head.

The aroma is malty and tangy, toasted and lightly nutty.

The taste is malty, roasted, toasted, a bit nutty, a light tang, and a moderate bitterness on the finish. A very drinkable Oktoberfest offering.

Do my eyes deceive me? Does that say "Yuengling Oktoberfest?!" Um, yes, please!

12oz bottle poured into a conical pint. Pours a tawny dark rusty amber with a small sheet of lace atop. The nose is fruity with notes of banana, stawberry - though faint at that. Toffee and caramel sweet aromas round this out, with a touch of ethanol. A different aroma, but not offputting.

Smooth clean mouthfeel, that begs to be gulped. Spot-on carbonation gives the beer enough girth to satisfy me. Sweet caramel and toffee flavors, light fruity back end. Bready finish. Alcohol adds just enough zip to bolster this beer. A total malt-heads dream. Really a good beer. I expected to find some major flaws in this, but I couldn't really find any. A well-made beer, perfect for the cooler months ahead.

Appearance: This beer pours a deep and clear amber color and is topped with an inch and quarter of off colored head that dissipates quickly after the pour.
Smell: There is a good malt smell to the beer and there is a small amount of spice note in the background.
Taste: The taste is rather clean for an Oktoberfest, a good malt base with a small spice note in the background like the smell but I wish that it was a little more predominate than it is.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel of this beer is right on where I expect it to be not too thin that the beer just washes away too quick but not so thick that it makes it difficult to drink.

12oz bottle into Yuengling pint glass.

A - Deep amber color with a nice fluffy white head.

S - Toasted and nutty malts with hints of caramel, floral hops, and grains.

T - Toasted grainy malts and sweet caramel up front. Very bready and nutty. The finish brings light earthy hops with a lingering graininess and a slight metallic flavor.

M - Very smooth, light-medium bodied, crisp and clean.

O - A good, easy drinking Oktoberfest beer. The flavor definitely has a distinct Yuengling taste and is eerily similar to their Traditional Lager. The big difference is the prominent roasted nutty malt flavors. Very enjoyable.

The beer pours a beautiful amber color with a 1/2" off-white head that quickly fades to spotty lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a dry, pilsner, Munich, and crystal malt scent; sweet and malty with a touch of bread-like character. The taste is average. It has a faint malt character with a thin, dry finish. It goes down quick and easy with little complexity. The mouthfeel is average as well. It's a light and easy drinking beer with good carbonation. It has little mouthfeel and seems too thin and lacking for the style. This is a non-offensive seasonal that's easy drinking, but nothing to boast about.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a 14 oz "pint" glass. Pours a dark red with a small white head that dissipates quickly and does not leave much lacing. Very malty aroma is present, dark roast dominating, nothing really stands out. Tastes of caramel and dark roasted malt, but not really strong, and more mass produced. Beer is carbonated correctly and goes down pretty smooth. Overall, a slightly above average beer.

12oz twist off bottle poured into a pint glass.

Pours a deep amber with a burnt orange color, decent clarity. About 1-2 fingers of off white head that eventually fades to nothing.

Light mineral lager yeast with a bit of light toasted grain and light caramel, nothing special.

Mineral with a touch of sulfur lager yeast throughout with some grainy sweetness and a bit of caramel bread. Slight hints of citric hop bitterness. hHowever a little too light and lack luster for the style, carbonated like a light lager, a little overdone , but drinkable and a nice new offering from yeunling.

Poured into a Yuengling nonic glass for review. Pours a clear amber with little head that thins quickly. Nice carbonation evident. Twist off cap a minus in my book but good for those who prefer a quick way to pop the cap. I'd imagine this beer won't hold up to oxidation in the long run.

Smells along the lines of similar Yuengling offerings. This one smells a bit grainy with a light roast note. Hints of caramel & light chocolate peak through. LIght bready notes.

Tastes a little light with good upfront bitterness. Feels mostly dry with a tinge of malt sweetness. Not very complex with a slight chocolate character to finish. Rather clean tasting lager.

Overall, I'm glad to see Yuengling have a new offering. This is quite the change of pace from their regular offerings. I would gladly try this every year around the fall season.

Pours a nice copper amber. Tan head that maintained well to lace just a little .
Aroma of bread like malts, woody.
Taste of that bread, sweet caramel, malts and some hops at the finish.
The carbonation is ok but the beer feels a little thin.
Overall a good drinking ofest. As for the price, ya I'd buy again.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a dark brown color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is sweet and malty. Taste is also very malty, some sweetness, a touch of hops, refreshing and easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

On tap at Kegler's today.

The beer pours a copper amber color with fairly decent head retention and light lacing. I don't get a whole lot on the nose, just some roasty malt and some sweet baked fruit flavors. The flavor profile replicates the nose, though there was a lot more flavor than I was expecting (especially given that this is a yuengling product). The beer is a bitg sweet and malty, but I don't mind that so much in a marzen. There's a kiss of bitterness on the finish, which helps to balance the sweetness in this beer. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with a moderately long, fairly clean finsh.

Another simple, uncomplicated, easy to appreciate beer from Yuengling. Can't imagine choosing this over a German version of this beer, but I thought it enjoyable and eminently drinkable. Not sure I'd ever order it again, but I enjoyed the glass I ordered at keglers.

Appearance - light amber pour, a hint of orange. A foamy finger of foam is sticky and a good finger's worth in thickness. A wall of lace hangs around the glass as the cap slowly recedes.

Aroma - sweet, bready, a touch of caramel. Pretty standard as OFests go.

Taste - grainy, a bit watery and even a touch twangy up front, but some malt character is there. Develops better on the swallow as the toastiness of the grain is expressed and moves in-palate. A light breadiness on the swallow, a clean finish, even an occasional touch of cinnamon at the end. Goes a little thin but has just enough taste to hold my interest...for now.

Mouthfeel - thin and almost macroish for a marzen. Body is too light for the style in my opinion, although some OFests are decidedly lighter in terms of color, body, etc. If this beer had more beef in the flavor department, I'd be less critical here.

Drinkability - all in all, an easy beer to knock back if you don't set your sights too high. A decent beer to get some crossover action from the BMC crowd.

A: Pours a deep, clear amber-orange color. The medium-sized off-white head has a slight caramel tint and a foamy texture. Retention is fair, and a bit of soapy lacing sticks to the glass in irregular rings.

S: Firmly malty in the nose, with some robust caramel notes. Some moderate breadiness as well. Lightly toasty and nutty, with some mildly sour yeastiness in the background. Faint herbal hop notes.

T: Sweet caramel and firm grainy/bready flavors up front. Mild toasty and nutty flavors. There is a bit of adjunct flavor at play, and the typical Yuengling yeast tanginess. Hop bitterness is appropriately low, adding some faint balance to an otherwise malty and somewhat sweet beer.

M: Thin-bodied and a bit astringent. Carbonation is withering. A bit of stickiness initially fades pretty quickly and becomes quite dry.

D: This is not a particularly enjoyable Marzen. In terms of flavor, it's solid, but I wasn't a fan of the mouthfeel or lack of complexity. This also shows some unusually prominent yeast character that seems out of place.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip pint glass. I didnt even know they made an Oktoberfest.

Really nice looking beer. Deep dark copper red and brown body, little rising carbonation, but a real nice fluffy and creamy head. Off tan white, lots of retention, pretty aggresive and dark looking beer.

Nose is really odd for a marzen. Mud. Dirt. No deep malt presence, a little bit of sweetness and yeast stickiness.

Palate really emphasizes the dirt aspect. Body is perfectly fine, coating and full, taste is right out of a sandbox and turned garden. Lots of dirt and earth, not in the hop vein. Weird sticky off putting lager yeast that seems common from Yuengling.

This is one weird Marzen, where is the malt and bakery like presence?? really not interesed in having this again at all.

Okay I want to run this o-fest beer straight into the ground along with the yuengling brand, but I actually buy yuengling once or twice a year because I appreciate what they are. I own a family owned and operated business and know the hard work. However I try to make what we do better each and every day and stride for world class all the same. Could yuengling produce a better quality beer? They could but maybe they like sticking to their roots. That's okay after all. I'll just be buying more Founders and FFF at the end of the day. But here's the review.

12 oz brown bottle with a unfortunate twist cap(yuengling need to become craft if they preach craft). A gorgeous label done in fantastic autumn season color. You think you are buying Oktoberfest anyway. Poured into a standard mug.

A - a good color shade of dark orangish copper. A head that's off white and extremely thin. Gone before you take the third whiff. The entire brew is very thin.

S - actually the only thing thats worth talking of in the marzen department. Sweet bready aroma with a hint of caramel sweetness. Typical yuengling yeast down within.

T - hmm.. A lot like a bottle of yuengling lager. Actually the exact same with maybe a slight hint of caramel.

M - thin and well thin. It's an easy drinker for sure, but I guess I've been drinking hard core craft beer for too long. Call me a beer snob if you'd like, but thats how I like my brew. A pretty crisp finish with a touch of lager linger in the back.

O - while I do appreciate yuengling beers, I can't say they are my go to or even something I even think about other than that rare occasion of not having time to go to my craft honey hole. This just isn't a marzen. You could make the excuse it's a good cheap brew, but the fact is I can buy a GLBC Oktoberfest 6 pack for .75 cents more. Or 2 bombers of brauerei aying marzen for exactly the same. I respect folks buying their weekend sixer of yuengling rather than buying any AB/ Bud/ Bud light, but the truth is.. There are too many damn good beer makers personally known myself for me to call this my favorite brewer. While my appreciation is there, my Wallot will not always be. This experience actually made me appreciate what Great Lakes sends down my way and trust me, Ive bought enough GLBC o-fest to take care of my marzen fix for fall 2012. Craft guys who try this will know what I mean and understand my standards of ales and lagers. Others who switched from bud to yuengling probably won't but hey those people won't be reading and writing reviews on brews anyway. This is worth a try for most though.

Yuengling - Oktoberfest Bottled in Pottsville, PA.

I'm really torn on this one. It's not bad, and I'm generally a fairly good fan of Yuengling (decent cheap beer - did I mention cheap!), but their Oktoberfest misses the mark as an Oktoberfest beer.

It tastes like slightly stronger/darker than normal Yuengling. I don't get the märzen taste at all. By itself, compared to other mass market beers, I'd definately give this one high marks. But I think they totally missed the style guide here. Its like Michalob Amber Bock - I don't hate it, but it's definately not a Bock beer. If it just had a different label on the front I'd probably make a point of seeking it out again. I wonder if they actually bottled the wrong stuff or slapped the wrong label on the bottle?

It's not bad, but when I'm in the mood for a festbier, this one isn't going to do it. No sign of an ABV or bottling date to be found.

Poured a medium copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and pacing.

The smell featured caramel and bitter adjuncts.

The taste likewise consisted of a sweet caramel malt coupled with an earthy bitterness and boiled corn.

The mouthfeel was thin for the style.

Overall a below average octoberfest.
