This is my "go to" beer when I want something cheap and refreshing on those hot summer afternoons.

I have been drinking this beer since before Schmidts of Philadelphia went out of business. Long before anyone ever even heard of Yuengling outside of the Pennsylvania coal region. This was the mainstay for the Yuengling brewery for many decades. For years referred to as "coal region cooler". Long before "Lager" was born.

A light golden appearance with a three inch fluffy head that sticks around a while. ( a "beer clean" glass is essential for this to occur) Smells of straw, wheat and maybe a little corn.

The taste is crisp with a little bite. The alcohol makes its presence known a little. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but alright for a beer of this caliber.

Drinkability is real good. A great lawnmower beer. Solid. Yes, I love my Victory Lager, Brooklyn Lager and my Saisons on a warm summer day. But I still keep some Yuengling Premium in the fridge as well. Old habits die hard.

I like this beer regardless of what others say this beer taste better than Coors and Budweiser beers. The beer is used to drink as my regular beer and I still but six pack now again. A good drinking beer when you don't want a lager or a Ale and just want a plain good beer to drink.

Appearance: Cheap straw yellow, Fizzy white head that will be gone before the first sip, good carbonation, little or no lacing.

Smell: It's hard to smell anything, but corn in a can?

Taste: Bland, no hops or malt really.

Big Time disappointment. Yuengling makes it a point to call this premium beer, but it's average at best (and that's basing average on the BudMillerCoors standard crap).
