Appearance: Cheap straw yellow, Fizzy white head that will be gone before the first sip, good carbonation, little or no lacing.
Smell: It's hard to smell anything, but corn in a can?
Taste: Bland, no hops or malt really.
Big Time disappointment. Yuengling makes it a point to call this premium beer, but it's average at best (and that's basing average on the BudMillerCoors standard crap).

First bottle into pint glass. Rest drank from the bottle.
Nice golden color. Bubbles racing to the top. White foamy head that left a bit of lacing on the glass.
Beer with some white wine like grape aroma faint whiff of alcohol. Not bad. Clean.
Mild malt with a sharp hop flavor in the finish. Kind of boozy at first then disappears after the first few.
Clean and crisp. Not syrupy. Finishes dry but not too much.
Good cheap beer that taste good. Will drink again.

Pours a straw-yellow color, very pale, nearly clear, slight clarity, a bit more haze than expected. Thin, white head lasts only for a few seconds, no lacing left behind. Aroma filled with crisp grains and some lightly toasted malt (but not much). Light floral essence, a bit metallic on the nose, too. Taste is very light and crisp, thin bodied with a dry malt character; grains and corns are abundant, but still too weak to give a big flavor. Apple skins and grape sweetness comes to mind with the crispiness of the brew; hop flavor is low, although there is a slight bitterness that can be detected; however, it comes and goes without much taste at all. Some slight sweetness and a dry, crisp grain flavor in the aftertaste.
Overall, not an awful beer - certainly more flavorful and tasty than Bud, Coors, etc., but I still would venture to believe that better choices can be made wherever this is available.

Poured very pale yellow, straw color with a white suddsy head. Clear with obvious carbonation showing. Not very aromatic, hints of malt, maybe corn, and grass. Beer also smells like its starting to skunk. Taste is slightly sweet up front with just a little bitterness on the finish. Thin mouthfeel, slightly dry, but very drinkable. An easy pick over other the macro-AALs out there since it actually has some flavor and some aroma.

Thanks to woodychandler for this one. Poured into nonic. Poured a lightly hazy light gold color with an inch and a half of white head that had decent retention and left no lacing.
The aroma was was mostly grain-like malt with just some very light hops offering some contrast, rather bland and neutral smelling. The flavors were nearly identical, some sweet grains, very light hops and an overall bland taste.
The body was the typical thin and crisp expected from the style. Drinkabilty was OK, the beer went quickly and with much effort. Overall, an OK beer, it is what it is, and you probably know what you're getting when you buy the beer.

About halfway through this beer, I know this review will be short because there's just so little to write. Not bad for the style, but what is that really saying?
An average look starts it off, just a bit of head then a wispy foam that stays around and leaves spotty lacing. The brew itself is the unsurprising pale gold.
This beer is almost the definition of nondescript: some grains (expected) underneath, slight pale malts, slight hops, a touch of skunk and a bit of yeast. The skunk in the nose if off-putting, but not so much in the flavor. It's nothing I wasn't expecting.
Crisp and refreshing, as most light lagers can be, but clean with a body actually veering toward medium.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a clear golden with a one-finger head that quickly dissipates. Not really any noticeable lacing.
Smell: Mainly malts and adjuncts, barely discernible hops.
Taste: Light malts, light hoppiness, heavy on corny adjuncts, sweet. Reminds me of Coors'.
Mouthfeel: Very light bodied and high carbonation, works for the flavor profile.
Overall: Typical AAL profile, although a bit subpar. Fans of BMC would enjoy this, but I'd recommend Yuengling Traditional any day.

Poured from can into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a light golden color with a large white head. The head quickly faded leaving a persistent thin foam with only a very light lacing on the glass.
Smell – The aroma is very light, but notes of corn and an ever so light caramel smell present.
Taste – Sweetness is the first thing detected on the tongue. It contains mainly flavors of corn, but has a light caramel taste as well. The sweetness lightens ever so slightly as the taste goes on leaving a little it of a more bready flavor; overall though the flavor is rather light.
Mouthfeel – A very moderate body and very average level of carbonation, make this one very easy to drink, but is really nothing too special.
Overall – Easy drinking beer with a moderate level of flavor. A very standard American lager.

Pours a yellow, translucent gold with a quarter inch of fizzy, bubbly, soap-like head that quickly fades to nothing. The nose is sweet and smells primarily of corn. The taste is rather nondescript; corny, sweet, faint grassy hops. The mouthfeel is light, crisp, and smooth.
This is a very sessionable lager. In drinkability it's not unlike the Traditional Lager, but in flavor it's rather weak and disappointing.

Yuengling Premium pours a brilliant clear straw yellow with a small, fizzy white head on top. The foam disappears quickly leaving behind a few spots of lace on the glass.
The is light with notes of pale malt, honey, and floral hops.
Each sip of this light to medium bodied beer is smooth with mild carbonation. The flavor is sweet with pale malt, toast, corn and a touch of honey. It finishes mildly bitter with notes of flowers. Once gone the floral notes and sweet malt linger on the palate.
This is a very easy drinking, well balanced beer. A great lager for a hot summer day.

I seen this for the first time last week and I cant find it anymore. I'm very familiar with the traditional lager but this poured a little lighter in color but seemed to have more flavor a sweeter aroma. It was crisp and refreshing and for $4.29 for 4 pint cans its a good deal.

Its better than the usual, I will leave it at that.
A: Clear, good head.
S: Has the traditional light malt smell, little hop odor if any.
T: Slight grain flavor with a hint of bitterness, atleast more noticeable than the budmiloors.
M: As you would expect, crisp. But thats what you drink for it, isnt it?

I picked this up at Thirsty's Quick stop in York PA. A quart bottle poured into a tumbler.
The color is slightly dark golden with a thick 2 1/2 finger cap of sudsy white retains fairly well with ultra fine bead. The smell is a very odd sweet smell like corn or rice-very cereal and light on malt without much aroma in general: basic 'beer' smell as my wife calls it. The feel is thin, gassy and light with slick slightly creamy texture with some DMS. There is mild sweetness but finish is semi-dry.
The flavor is dry and grainy with a corny slightly sugary taste w/ a hint of toast. The taste is slick like canned corn with the malt light. The overall flavor is clean expect for the DMS which is distracting although the crisp finish is like eating a corn pop - it leaves little in the way of taste after the swallow, just comes and goes like a pop song. Overall I don't fault this it is not terrible, just not impressive and a lackluster flavor in general. I think it might appeal to those who may like other mass produced lagers

This is one of the few beers that I actually prefer from a can. That and the fact that we could get a case of pounders in college for about $15! Nothing really stands out about this "premium" offering from America's oldest brewery. If all you want to do is get hammered with a couple buddies, you could do worse than this beer...but not much.

overall: basic pilsner, has all the elements one would expect for a "premium."

First had: bottle at some tailgating party
Premium, eh? Yummy! Not.
Well, it's not all bad.
Poured into a red Solo cup (muahaha), a pale straw-yellow color, fizzy, with a finger or two of bubbly white head that receded quite a bit rather quickly. Aroma of boring grains, light floral hops, and a bit of citrus zest. The taste followed the smell pretty closely, with grains, pale malts, light floral hops, all a bit metallic, but not entirely unbearable. Light mouthfeel, and fairly drinkable particularly if nothing else is available.

12 oz bottle.
It pours a pale gold with a short lived fizzy head that doesn't leave any lacing. Usually the one thing macros get right is the appearance, not this one.
The smell is pretty bad even for macro standards, old sock, corn vomit, cardboard, and rotten fruit round out the smells.
The flavor is also incredibly weak. It is sour with a nasty corn note, some water, and a slight bit of hops.
Watery mouthfeel, bad aftertaste.
This beer sucks.

Pours straw-gold and clear, with fizzy white topping of foam. Smell is grainy. and macroish. Reminds me of PBR, or Genny red, or high life, or many many others. Taste is simple, grainy also with just a faint hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is crisp, thin and finishes clean. Overall this is similar to Yuengling Lager except for the color, and this also lacks the distinct sulphur character. Decent enough brew, low ABV makes for easy drinking. Hard to find except at some distributors.

Straw yellow in color, pleasant aroma, typical pale taste, very middle of the road but also refreshingly drinkable. An excellent choice for hanging out with friends in the bar! It goes very nicely with seafood, this I tried at a Red Lobster here on Long Island.

I CAN't believe it! A gift from woodychandler.
Appearance -- Pours a pale straw hue, high clarity, with a tuft of fizzy lily-white head. Looks good!
Smell -- Not much to comment on. Very clean, pilsner malt, mild earthy malt and floral notes. Mild.
Taste -- More of the same: very mild, but not in a subtle way. Rather, just not much to comment on. Bready/grainy malt, slight mineral component. Some earthy hop flavor is present but without much of the related bittering.
Mouthfeel -- Medium-light in body with high fizzy carbonation. Not great, but nothing bad.
Overall -- Nothing to scream about, but for the money it's a pretty good choice. I'd have no problem crushing a six-pack of this at the beach.
East-coasters dump on this plenty, but to be honest, this definitely outpaces a lot of mediocre craft APL's I've had in my time.

A-light gold with a thin white head that quickly disappears to nothing, not even around the rim.
S-barley and sweet honey. very faint scent.
T-comes in with a slightly bitter taste of honey and grains. there's a matching after-taste that is so faint, its hardly worth mentioning.
M-medium carbonation with a fairly dry finish
O-listed as a pale lager? no, thats wrong. this is an adjunct, and its terrible even for an adjunct...its just that bad. the tastes themselves aren't horrible, but the overall lack of taste is just upsetting.

sampled several times on-tap during a week-long trip in northern virginia. mom said, 'if you can't say something nice'... i guess appearance is the least-weak link?
smell is not bad, but utterly forgettable - weak malt and even weaker hops. taste - well, i guess it's not BMC, and unfortunately the dearth of reasonable beer at most restaurants backed me into the yuengling corner a few times.
completely blah beer.

Pours a light yellow from a bottle into a glass.
The aroma is faintly metallic, but it retains the trademark yuengling aroma, which is hard to describe, but probably comes from the corn used.
The taste is uneventful and quite mediocre. Much better than a Coors Light and such, and one tiny step below the traditional lager. Very drinkable, it doesn't taste poorly, and its cheap.
Obviously not a craft beer, but I have no serious complaints.

*notes from 5/16/2011*
I am not impressed, this is a very mediocre beer. it is half way between yuegling light and their lager. I am a big fan of the Lager so I thought I would give this one a chance. I know not to do that again. It has a very tinny metallic flavor that I assume comes from the can , which when i have had the Lager in the can is not present. I think this is the biggest disappointment from Yuegling I have had.
