12oz bottle served in a glass beer mug.
L - clear chestnut brown color with an off-white head that thinned out to mainly a ring but still left a thin coat of lacing.
S - roasted malt with a bit of smoke.
T - pleasant tasting bock beer, roasty and smokey malt flavor, not too sweet.
F - medium body with a crisp carbonation feel.
D - goes down nice and easy.

Poured from a bottle a dark brown amber small head that goes to just a little.
Smells of roasted sweet malts a very nice smell
Tastes of Roasted malts and has a great flavor for a Bock Beer about what a bock should be.
Mouthfeel is pleasent and refreshing and this is a very Drinkable Bock without being weak in any way.
After 40 years of not making a Bock They have hit the nail on the Head with this one.
I had this last spring on draft at the brewery and they said they were going to bottle it this year I am very glad they did. Love the 1940's Label with the Goat drinking beer and saying tastes Good! I recomend if you can get some to give it a try they have done a great job making this one. I have stocked up with 3 cases!

Poured into a Shaker pint. Clear dark copper color with a big bubbled off-white head that quickly disappears into a thin foamy ring with minor lacing. Sourness in the aroma. Slight tartness and bitter finish. More ale-like than a bock. Drinkable but was disappointed in this one.
Love the awsome artwork for the lable!

A- Poured into a snifter... starts with a thin off white head that lingers momentarily, leaving no lacing after its gone. Beer is a very dark amber color with little activity
S- After some swirls of the snifter... has a bready aroma with light notes of malty sweetness
T- Not much of the sweetness comes through in the taste... has a toasted malt flavor with a noteable bitterness
M- Full bodied with medium carbonation
D- Drinkable to style guidelines, but definitely not my favorite bock
CHEERS!!

Was surprised to see Yuengling put something out other than their usual lineup...I immediately bought a sixer.
Appearance: heavy red-orange brown color, clear with significant carbonation, moderate foaming with clean pour, with only resdiual foam lingering around the rim.
Smell: the first scent draws obvious likenesses to Traditional Lager, yet stronger with a more pronounced malty aroma.
Taste: first impression points to continued likenesses to Traditional Lager with a clean start, yet the toasty flavor of the malts lingers beyond the finish
Drinkability: maintains the traditional appeal that you would expect from Yuengling, yet is also an enhanced, more developed taste.

For a seasonal Yuengling, this was quite good. Good off white/linen colour head to it. Went from a 1.5 inch to about a 1/2 inch. Semi good lacing. Neat red hue to it.
The taste was interesting, depending on what I was eating. Empty stomach was smooth and then with a taste familiar to regular Yuengling Lager. Not really bitter at all. Over all a very easy tasting/drinking beer.
Wouldn't recommend eating anything spicy or sweet. That threw it off big time. Couldn't finish the last because I went and spoiled my pallet. Goes well with a meal, not so much a snack or desert.
Good job Yuengling, and look forward to future endeavors.

This beer pours a dark brownish red with a respectable white head that falls into a thin line of bubbles. I like what I see
The smell is subtle and sweet Inviting yet not stellar.
Bock Beer hits the right notes for taste being smooth mellow, and malty. This is the second bottle I have had and I did notice this time out a bit of adjunct flavor yet the flaked maze does not interfere with the overall flavor profile of the beer.
The mouthfeel is a little thin but not bad feels like a bock.
Yuengling has stepped up and bottled this seasonal beer and I am impressed with the quality for price of the Bock beer. I payed 7.00 in PA for a six pack of really good beer. I have had better bocks but not for a little over a dollar a bottle.

6-pack ($5.99) from Bullock's Wine & Spirits in Marietta, Georgia. Yes, an entire six-er!
Appearance: Pours a clear, deep, aged copper body with a froth, incredibly light beige-colored head. Thin spackling of lace on the way down.
Smell: Nose of toasted biscuits and bread backed by some spicy-scented hops and hints of caramel and molasses and dark fruit.
Taste: Malty tastes of biscuits and dark bread with light, sweet flourishes of molasses and dark caramel. Fruit hint of boxed raisins. A spicy, herbaceous hop presence emerges from beneath the sweet maltiness to deliver a bit of balancing bitterness (given a small boost by the relatively crispness of the beer). Sweetish maltiness mingled with the subtly spicy hops on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation.
Drinkability: Apparently, it's been nearly forty long years since ole Yuengling produced a bock. I found it to be not only easily drinkable and reasonably sessionable, but a decent bargain at six bucks a six-er.

Pours reddish chocolate. Rich head with tight bubbles. Lace clings generously to side of glass.
Nose is sweet malt with slight whisky sweetness balanced by nicely porportioned hop florals.
Taste is first of some hop bitterness followed mellow sweetness, and some slightly astringent fizzyness. Slightly too bitter for style, but highly drinkable nonetheless.

nice looking bock....good head with big bubbles that laces nicely....then dissipates into odd, cool flecks....color is nice, like a dark cream soda...deep amber....like Y lager with a bit more density.
nice nose. the malts are right up front with a sweet, almost muscadine note. more complex and subtle than i expected. better than 'good'
now the taste takes it up a notch for good ole Yuengling....i love their 'real' brews (not those 'lights'), but this is up there. it's sort of like the lager with a bit of heft (again, similar). there's more flavor going on, alot of malt and breadiness. a nice, clean finish resonates, allowing a simple but very refreshing bock to unfold. the mouthfeel supports this well, showcasing both a creamy smoothness and a crisp, bristling veneer of carbonation. the breadiness continues to reassert, making this a Yuengling that is not only enjoyable as a premium 'everyday' beer, but one of some depth and balance.
all in all, it makes this an easy brew to session. and one you'd want to session. good to see something new from Yuengling!
if ANYTHING, i'd be glad to drink this in place of the lager. year round.

This pours a dark caramel color. Not a whole lot of head or carbonation.
The nose on this is definitely floral hops. Not too intense (I'm not a hop head; this was ok for me).
Taste is malt. There is a little hop bite on the end, but it's not that big. If you've had a Yuengling Lager, it's like that but a little more intense malt and a little more hops.

Nice coppery sort of color. Decent head that fades all to quickly. Bready aroma-somewhat nutty as well. Slight coppery/metalic tinge to it. Ok malty flavor-again a metallic presence detracts from the over all flavor. Mild caramel like flavor. Ok mouthfeel-lacks the malt body of a decent bock. Ok overall-nothing really stands out for me. Give me a regular Yuengling lager over this.

Ap. Very nice golden brown with good ruby red background. Smallish head (beer was too cold).
Sm. Caramel malts first and then some hops/grapefruit.
Ta. Tart and clear with some orange zest maybe. late bitterness.
Mf. Light and carbonated...almost fizzy.
Dr. Yes, I like this stuff. Not as good as their Porter or B&T, but good. The goat is a nice touch, too.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a dark brown color with a 1/2 inch head. Smells is rather mild, some malts. Taste is malty, a touch of chocoalte, a slight bitterness at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth. Overall this is a pretty good brew.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Guinness tankard.
A - Poured a dark brown, almost black color, with a thick white foamy head. Decent carbonation for this style of beer.
S - Slightly metalic, with herbal notes. Hints of a macro aroma (grainy/grassy). Not as malty as I would have expected.
T - A slight sweetness followed by a metallic bitterness. Slightly medicinal and malty. You get a bit of smokiness in the finsih, which is nice.
MF&D - A little on the thin side (Watery) and lacking in any real body. Went down easy enough. Not the best, but not bad for the $6.99 price tag.

A: Seems not as dark as it was last year(ontap) but still has a nice dark brown amber like color with a good head that leaves a good laceing i also like the design on the bottles.
S:Theirs something a little off at first but then its all slightly bready roasted malts the rest of the way
T:not very complex which in this case may be good roasted carmel malt and thats about it, but good!
M:very smooth but a little light and water like with good carbonation leaves the toung wanting more with every sip.
D: I could easly drink alot of these and not relise it and now this year you can get it in cases so i will for sure be buying alot of this if its still around in april im going to take a bunch on my fishing trip.

Baby growler fill of this kid bock over at New Beer. Poured into a generic tumbler.
Lots of activity. Bottom up, it has as much activity as a glass of Coke. Tawny in color, with a quarter inch of thinning-out fizz.
Smell is a little weird at first. A little vegetable-y with a convincing whiff of sour cream. The end of it gets a little cola, but just not enough. Warming up, more of a numbing/spicy bitterness that's all too out of place.
Carbonation is great, but it's simply just cutting through water. Taste is of light wheat bread, in second place: charred malt, a much lesser amount of mixed vegetables, with mineral runoff & bitter tea on the somewhat lingering finish.
There's a desperate need of alcohol here, as it tastes a good bit like Goya Malta, or some other similar travesty. No phenols, no doughy feel, very noticeable corners cut. A very piss poor attempt. :|

Just missed salesman who dropped off sample at local club. did'nt have a chance to quiz him on the details. Bottle was a quart size growler looking vessel.Had pint sample. Taste and appearance very nice just as good or better than Shiners or others of this style. Like to explore further samplings.
