If you go to an enforced "no glass" beach, your options are very limited so this is what I ended up with. Can't judge appearance out of a can but aroma was ok. First drink was actually a pleasant surprise at the front of the mouth, with decent balanced taste, though very heavily carbonated. As it went back though, it was as if it turned to water. No lasting flavor and no aftertaste. To be expected I guess at this ABV.
I later decided to pour one after I got home. Very nice deep golden amber color and decent head.
This is definitely not the best beer I have ever had, but for a light, it is not bad at all. Serves its purpose and I would drink again.

Bright gold, or maybe a shade darker. Not your usual Yuengling color. Head? No head. I'm staring at a transparent surface with some tiny bubbles along the rim.
Corn and barley malts with some carryover sweetness that isn't supposed to be there. Not even getting any hops. Smells like grain water.
More corn presence, like the nose. Only the malts, but they're just lightly toasted pale grains. Very light earthy bitterness that is a by-product of the hops. Not crisp. Sweet-ish, but no DMS or other sulfurous notes. Wouldn't call it clean, however.
Medium in body, impressive for a light lager, but where's the carbonation? I thought this would be super-fizzy. Gases must've escaped, as this beer's near-flat.
It's alright, I guess. I'll drink it from time-to-time. You don't have to.

Appearance - Nice color for a light macro. Almost the same color as clover honey. Decent head but dissipates very quickly. However it looks pretty much like you would expect a regular yuengling to look if you added water to it.
Smell - Like any other light macro, not much smell. Slightly better than something like bud light but still not much there, just some grain smell.
Taste - Like Yuengling lager, but with water added. Not very pleasant, just too watered down feeling. The grains are there, no real hops or malts, pretty much what you expect in a light adjunct macro.
Mouthfeel - pretty much just average, no really much else to say about it.
I'm pretty sure that all they did was water down regular yuengling lager until it was below 100 carbs, (99 according to the bottle), and then bottle it as a light beer. Really glad this beer was given to me because I wouldn't buy it. If you are a fan of traditional Yuengling Lager then go with that, and if you are trying to watch you calories, drink less or make cuts somewhere else.

A: Clear, amber with a white head, about a single finger head
S: Bready and grainy smell, little else.
T: Sweet and caramel notes. Smooth. Basically I imagine this as a watered down tradition yuengling lager.
M: Moderate carbonation and Medium body. One very nice difference from the traditional yuengling lager is that this one doesn't have a bad aftertaste. That is definitely a plus.
O: basically a watered down traditional yuengling without that sour lingering aftertaste. Still would take the full flavored version over this one though.

take all the bad features of the normal yuengling, its gross stale malt flavor, its way over the top carbonation, and its skunky aftertaste, then water it all down, and this is what you get. it pours clear and bubbly, minimal head. the aroma is pretty bad, metallc and off on the malt, no hops at all. the flavor is just a dumbed down regular yuengling, with a little less body. carbonation is also brutally ovedone, feels like a pepsi in my mouth, but tastes far worse. this had me on the verge of throwing up in my mouth, no joke. i can find some redeeming factor in any beer, which is hard in this case, but guess if you want to drink all day and not catch a buzz, this it your go. not something ill hopefully ever drink again.

12oz can
Served in a pint glass
A - It has a nice amber color to it. Each pour gives me a generous head that quickly dissipates.
S - I get grain and grass.
T - There is almost a complete lack of taste. If I have to think this hard as to what I am tasting I will just call it tasteless. Very Coors Light-like.
M - Damn near water. The carbonation lets me know that it's not.
O - It looks great for a light beer. That's about it. It's as close to water as I've come across since having a Coors Light.

Drank from the 24 oz can.
Smell is extremely light. Almost no aroma coming off of this. Just some crackery malt and grain. Some grass.
Taste is very light also with a sweet, almost citrusy character to it. Lemony tea and then an almost peach note, then some grass and crackers. Weird and unexpected. Tastes somewhat summery actually and really not bad at all. very light but not in taste, rather in character.
This was a pleasant surprise. Yuengling is always pretty solid and this one might edge out the original in the summer.

Poured into a perfect pint from a 24 oz. can.
3.5 A: Clear medium orange color. Two fingers of frothy off-white head. Retention is pretty good and a decent amount of lacing is left. I just had the regular Yuengling out of a can and it didn't retain the head at all. How peculiar.
2.0 S: Like the regular, just weak as hell. Also not picking up any caramel. Just a light toastiness and some graininess. Weak.
2.0 T: Tastes like nothing with a light toastiness and graininess. Weak.
2.0 M: Light body. A bit too much carbonation. Not even crisp, just fluffy water. Weak.
1.5 D: Weak.

From capra12. 12oz. bottle into a Heady Topper pint glass.
1 finger white head with minimal retention. Beer is dark, clear goldenrod. Spotty lace with little retention. Average for the style.
Some wheat and rice notes. Not much else. Simple and pretty subdued.
Opens sweet. Some rice notes with hint of a malt backbone. A slightly odd tartness towards the end. Finishes clean and crisp. Slightly sweet aftertaste. Not much going on here but par for the style.
Light bodied with good carbonation. Clean and crisp in the mouth and finishes crisp, quenching. Little aftertaste. What you'd expect. Pretty refreshing.
Overall, this is one of the better beers in its style. Nicely drinkable. Great with food. But overall, there's not much going on here. Decent.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.
A real nice amber brown and clear body, giving a fairly good white head but it seems to fall at a good clip to nothing.
Nose is strange. Kind of acrid and sour. Some faint toasted malts lingering in the background, faint sweetness behind this sourness.
Taste is fairly neutral. In the mid palate there's really nothing going on. Upon the aftertaste there's some sweet malt and bread, and a little toasty grain but kind of small. Pretty light bodied but that's to be expected feels actually pretty decent in the palate without any major faults.
Overall it's fairly inoffensive but it sure smelled unappealing on first open. I suppose you could do worse, can't say I am really drawn to this though, what's the point of drinking a beer that has next to nothing for taste?

12 ounce bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear light amber color with a half inch off-white head. The head didn't stay around for too long, and there's a small amount of lacing. Aroma is sweet malt and corn, not much to this brew at all. It's not a bad aroma, but not great either. Taste is the same as the aroma, it's all sweet malt and corn. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth, a bit slick and goes down easy enough. I'd have to say for the style of beer this is, it's average. I've certainly had a lot worse. It's not offensive at all, and for the most part I think it's more enjoyable than most light beers I've had in the past. Not that I would make a point to seek this out, but it's really not bad. Single bought from Blacklick Wine and Spirits for $1.09.

Ah Light Lager. This thing has no flavor that I really could find. I did all the swirling and stuff, but I got very little. Light toasted corn and no bitterness at all. The pale straw body and no head didnt really help either.
Well I cant say I totally hated this thing, but there wasnt much to hate. It was drinkable (like water or coke).

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Grading for the style.
A: Dark gold, almost copper in color. Yields a one finger, creamy, white head. Some but not much lacing.
S: Bready malts. A little bit of sweet adjunct funk.
T: Malts. Primarily bready with an earthy finish. Not much from hops here. More flavor than most light lagers.
M: Relatively light and watery but with more body than most light lagers with moderate carbonation.
O: Not a bad beer for a light lager. I like it better than the offerings from the big three but it still is not something I will be stocking in the fridge any time soon.

Served from bottle into a shaker. Poured a golden caramel color with a half finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. There was no lacing evident throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, nutty, and floral. The flavor was of sweet malt, nutty, floral, and water. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a fairly average brew. While there wasn't a whole lot going on here, it really wasn't bad either. Just wish this one would have been a little more complex. Would make a good gateway beer for the regular frat boy out there.

I tried the Yuengling Light Lager during a visit to Ohio. The beer poured a light oak color with a nice creamy white head, then lay to a light lace around the top of the glass. The smell and taste were mostly malt with slight balance hop. The mouthfeel was light in body and carbonated. Overall I think it is very drinkable, a nice light beer.

Only thing about Beer Advocate I don't like... the snobs. Any even remotely "mainstream" lighter beer is immediately deemed poor. Granted, this isn't the world's best brew, but it's not poor. In fact, it's one of the better light beers America produces.
Pours a light brown with little head. Smells of malt and yeast, no hops or citrus notes. Taste is earthy, soil-like similar to its regular counterpart.
Overall, a good light beer.

Into a pint glass:
A: light golden amber colored body that didn't have any head whatsoever
S: very faint caramel and graininess
T: light sweetness but didn't last
M: light and crisp; sessionable; slight wet grassiness and grain in the aftertaste and finish
O: decent for the style, does the trick what Yuengling was trying to do, probably only have again if I'm trying to lose weight

12oz can poured into a tulip. Reviewed with the style in mind.
A- Pours a light golden amber color with a thick white foam head that doesn't stick around for very long but does leave a few rings of lace.
S- Some faint caramel malt and grain scents. Not a whole lot going on in the nose.
T- A nice light sweetness initially with a touch of grassy hops and grain in the finish. Toasted bread and caramel malt round out the flavor. Very nice flavor considering the style.
M- Light and crisp with good carbonation.
O- Overall a very drinkable light lager. Easily one of the best that I have had thus far.

Prefer the normal yuengling lager, this light beer had no taste really. I dont like any light beers but I would prefer one of the big 3 over this one. The aroma was alright the appearance was a light bright color but the taste wasn't that good. Didn't apprecaite the aftertaste either. I believe I can get the same quality of this beer at a lower price as well.

12 Oz. Bottle into a pint glass
A: Pours a golden honey color. Finger size head that quickly retreats.
S: Straight barley. Can't detect much else going on here.
T: Barley, corn, and water. Mostly the latter two- pretty weak stuff here.
M: Carbonated when it first hits your mouth, but then it dies quickly. Smooth, but not necessarily in a pleasant way.
O: This was my second or third time having it- maybe it's because I was paying more attention this time around, but pretty disappointed and a lot less flavor than I remembered. Even if I had a long night of drinking ahead of me I would go with Yuengling Heavy over this.

12 oz twist-off bottle poured into a pilsner glass.
10354 on the neck, 99 cal., 8.5 g Carbs, .82 g protein, 0.1 g fat
Thanks to Thorpe429 for this bottle!
A - Actually, it's not that light! It's got a nice golden caramel hue that's crystal clear and topped by a white head. No lace left over though.
S - A bit skunky, this light lager has a grainy nose. Volatiles burn off quickly leaving pale malt and notes of straw.
T - Now that's the "light" I was expecting; corn and grainy malt with mild pale undertones create a drinkable beer that's not very flavorful, but certainly not offensive either.
M - Highly carbonated and watery in body, Light Lager is very light in feel with a slick finish and clean crispness.
O - Not bad after mowing the lawn, that's for true. I could see this being an easy drinking summer beer but definitely not one I'd keep on hand if available.

Poured out of a 12oz can.
Pours a clear, slightly dark gold. This head.
Smell is corn along with some malt and a little bit of hops. Not bad for a light beer.
Taste is much like the smell with some corny adjuct flavor along with a little malt. There is a decent bitterness for a light beer. This beer really tastes like regular yuengling that has been watered down.
There is much more flavor here than is present in other light beers and I would gladly choose this over any BMC light lager.

Out of a 24oz can this beer was a clear, golden color with a fizzy white head. Decent lacing and retention. The aroma was of pale malt, lager yeast and almost no hops. The flavors were also almost all pale malt, some adjuncts (corn?), cereal grains and a hint of sweetness. Very easy to drink but also very little to write about. The body was light, the carbonation average and the mouthfeel ok.
