I have had better, and worse. This is not like a real half and half where you pour the golden yellow beer and layer the dark. In the English pubs a half and half was draught Guiness and draught bitter and there is little better than that before, during, and after your darts. This beer was slightly bitter, even when poured. Not much kick or punch to it at 4%. If this was kicked up to 6% it might be better. Not bad on the feel, taste and smell and you can drink a lot of these at a dollar a bottle, but pour it. My preference is this with some lighter beer in a real half and half in an English pint. Not too bad that way. Like to hear from other half and half drinkers and what they like.

By the way, the spell checker tries to change draught to draft and it just ain't the same in the US as it is in Blighty.

This beer has a decent appearance and smell. The weak point for me is the mouthfeel, very thin...

This is another Yuengling anachronism: WAY better than Macros, but weak for a craft beer. It is what it is. It drinks pretty good and is inexpensive and works wonders for cooking brats or making
beer biscuits too.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Pours a deep ruby brown appearing black in the glass with a minimal slightly yellowed head. Leaves some spots of lacing as the head quickly dissipates.

S: Carmel and roasted malt come to mind but with a macro sort of tinge to it. Bit of a grassiness to it as well.

T: Has what you would expect from a black and tan. Sort of a pale ale lightness in the front with a roasted darker finish. Touch of carmel sweetness to it reminds me of an English style. Not an extremely flavorful example here but a light non-offensive approach.

M: Light mouthfeel with average carbonation, has a bit of a watery mouthfeel to it. Finish is a bit sticky but doesnt detract too much from its sessionability.

Overall for the price this one is tough to beat. Provides a bit more flavor than your standard cheap beer. Always find myself coming back to this one.

Yuengling has pulled through yet again! First off, drink this beer out of a glass rather than a can or bottle. The pour is great. The beer is darker than I had expected and holds a nice head after pouring. This beer smells similar to the Yuengling lager, but with a hint of roasted malt. The taste is very similar to the Yuengling Porter only milder. I enjoy the Porter's flavor but it is too strong for my preferences. The Black & Tan is more mellow while still having that roasted malt taste. The mouthfeel is slightly heavier than the Yuengling lager but is still very drinkable. Overall I give this beer slightly under a 4. For $22 bucks a case it's a great beer. Good micro-brew type flavor at a very reasonable price.

12 oz bottle. Pours brown with short lived, beige head. Nose is of bready malt, ripe fruit and lemonade. Body is medium, smooth and astringent. Taste is of toasted malt, chalk, metallic, very astringent. Finish is long and astringent. At least I did not buy this crap.
