12oz undated can.
Pours dark brown with an inch of beige head. Average retention and minimal lacing. Big coconut blast in the nose with shades of cocoa and vanilla following through. Light bodied with a thinnish, watery mouthfeel. Bakers chocolate and coconut on the palate. Finishes dry with lingering coconut.

This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a thin white head that quickly dissipated leaving a light little cap of a film of a head. Lacing was slightly bubbly and somewhat stringy. The smell had some dry coconut, roasty coffee, subtle dry almond/nuttiness with a little bit of cocoa powder here and there. The taste was moderately bitter and roasty through the coffee and then some sweetness from the coconut and cocoa powder. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fine sessionable feel as a porter. Gets pretty dry on my tongue with the roasty to bitterness quality rolling on my tongue. Overall, I’d say this was a pretty good porter that I’d have again. Seems like "coconut" in a porter is the in thing.

L - Poured a deep brown, nearly black body. One finger, light coffee colored head with very limited lacing.
S - Light roasted smell. Really didn't pick up the coconut.
T - Definitely a porter after taste.
F - Medium body with a slight dry finish.
O - A decent beer.

This almond coconut porter pours a black color with a slight ruby tint, a fizzy, slight light tan head, and a fairly high amount of carbonation. The smell is sweet with fairly strong coconut and almond scents. It is a bit artificial, a little bit sunscreen like. The taste isn’t so sunscreen like, but it definitely has a slightly artificial quality. The coconut flavor is most prominent, but the almond flavor is also quite strong and fairly almond extract like. The flavor is sweeter than most porters, but not extreme. The malt notes are almost completely drowned out, but there is a slight roasted grains quality as well. The body is on the high end of medium, but it is a bit lighter than your average quality porter. This is definitely not bad, but it is not a great porter either. It is a nice dessert porter, but I couldn’t drink more than one at a time. If you really want a coconut porter I prefer the Maui Coconut Porter personally.
