750ml corked and caged offering. Poured into a snifter, the brew appears a pale golden almost orange color. More copper than anything through the body when held to the light. A faint white cap holds across the top and produces some spotty lace as it fades.
The aroma is straight essence of juicy, jam strawberry. Almost unreal how much fresh strawberry inclusion this has. I have never smelled a brew that captures the sweet essence of ripe strawberry quite like this. I am almost afraid to inquire as to whether or not the inclusion is real. It also has a bit of sulfur and a raw seedy quality.
The flavor includes some hints of cheese coupled with funky bret and raw strawberry. Like the nose, it has a seedy, natural flavor about it that seems like ripe strawberry without that almost sweet perfume that was captured in the nose. As it warms up, some sulfuric qualities emerged.
This was a medium bodied offering with a modest amount of carbonation. The strawberry inclusion in this brew was absolutely profound and in a good way. I never had a strawberry beer capture the essence of fresh, ripe strawberry quite like this. Real or fake, I dont care. Everyone I shared this with went crazy over it after having the blueberry version prior. I know bottle variation is a bit factor in all wild ales but maybe the fact this was held in a refridgerator this long also helped maintain that fresh fruity essence. Sign me up for wanting more of this.
