Notes:
This NW style sour ale blends wheat and blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for six months, then additionally aged four months on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak and a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

2012 Project
A bit of a gusher after popping the cork. Guess I did not have the bottle chilled enough. It settled down quickly however. Pours a reddish purple color with one finger of head that held on for a few minutes before settling to a thin cap. Moderate amount of lacing is left down the glass.
Has a fruity funky aroma. Cannot say it is distinctly blueberry, but mixed berries. One of the more funky smelling Cascade fruit beers that smells like very ripe cheese.
Tastes of berries but surprisingly not strong blueberry. Moderately acidic but the funk of the aroma did not carry over to the flavor. Also quite dry with some oak notes.
Rather thin body. The carbonation is also low which might have been lost during the initial gushing.
Smelled very good but it did not carry over to where it really counts. Also surprised by the lack of actual blueberry flavor.

750ml corked and caged 2012 bottle poured into tulip 12/6/13 big cheers towards Rutager for sending me the bottle
A hazy bright ruby maroon liquid with plenty of bubbles feeding a huge 3 finger pink foam that leaves a thick partial ring of lace, love the color of this one
S cheesy funk and a little oak, lots of blueberries and some tart raspberry and strawberry jam, the funky notes come out as it warms and maybe just a little lemon
T toned down version of the nose with less fruity notes and more oak, I'm liking the flavor but the nose was amazing
M lighter side of medium, lots of bubbles almost prickly, quite sour with slight tannins and a little slick at the same time, finishes quit dry with a funky oak finish
O not sure how this one lasted over a month just sitting in my fridge, strange how I get lots of fruit the didn't brew with, no booze at any point and its going down fast
very nice sour, funky and earthy but I think it could use just a little more fruit but its a very minor complaint. This one's working well with this warm June afternoon, maybe a little to easy to drink.

Light fizzy head fades almost instantly, purple and chestnut reddish brown rosy color.
Nose great blueberry, fresh big plump blueberries, light wild funk, mild sweetness with touch of blueberry pie, tart blueberries as well,
Taste more fresh plump blueberries, thick juicy blueberries, blueberry pie filling again, nice sour flavor and tart berry, light stem like green flavor, just a hint of funk. Nice overall sourness and not too sour, some acidic flavor. Finish is drier and long sour flavor, nice blueberry and tart fruit lingering, light vanilla toasty oak finally coming through on the finish, little flemmy, nice acid.
Mouth is med bodied, little carb, little acidic bite.
Overall quite nice, great fresh and tart blueberries, great sour flavor.

A- Purple - looks just like my blueberry syrup in color. Head fades to a small layer on top
S- Blueberry, wow! Some funky barnyard smell, combines for a pleasing aroma. Tasting partner referred to it as smelling like a sour patch kid.
T- Great balance between fruit and funk. Big blueberry flavor, a little oak on the side.
M- Light, dry not overly carbonated feel, sour gives it a little pucker.
My first Cascade, and I think I picked a good one to start with. Great overall beer, and looking forward to grabbing another.

2012 Project
Appearance- Really pretty blend of purple and red, with a big pinkish head that fizzled away quickly, but left a thin cap that stuck around for a while.
Smell- Big lactic punch up front, followed by a fairly generic berry sweetness, and some funk. I can't necessarily pick out blueberry, but it smells delicious none-the-less
Taste- Awesome. Obviously it's nice and sour like all the cascade stuff, but it has an almost candy like sweetness to help balance things out. Big berry notes throughout. Finishes with some lemon and more berry. If there were a blueberry sour patch kid, this is what it would taste like.
Mouthfeel- Light mouthfeel, pretty big carbonation. Finishes on the dry side
Overall- Cascade comes through again. Really good stuff, even though it doesn't come cheap, it's definitely worth picking up or ordering from their site.
