Notes:
This one-of-a-kind NW sour is a blend of Belgian strong blondes aged in white port barrels with raspberries, then blended with select barrels of strong blondes that were aged on the toasted meat from the apricot nut, or Noyeaux.

Poured from tap into a snifter. Pours a lovely medium gold color with a foamy head.

There is a lot of tart qualities to the aromas of navel oranges, green apples, tart pears and a nice touch of funk as well.

Medium/full bodied with a great feel and good tartness on the backend. The flavors of green apples, tart pears, and some funk balance very well together.

While this isn't their most sour beer, it's a damn good one. Very well balanced with a real good tartness to it as well.

Thanks to Jeff for this want! 750ml corked and caged bottle into Torst stemware. Shared with schen9303.

Pours a coarse layer of white bubble that dissipates quickly. Beer is a clear peach and red tea. No lace, no legs. Pretty shabby.

Nose is slight tart raspberries, band-aid, oak and just a touch of funk. I guess I can kind of see the apricot presence but its very, very faint at best. Still, moderately aromatic and decent.

Opens tart raspberry and wine notes. More red fruit tartness in the middle with heavy acidity that climaxes towards the middle-end. Band-aid, oak and a mellow funk right at the end. Vinegary too. Finishes sour with a funky, Brett-y aftertaste. This one is almost over-the-top sour. Decent but very acidic.

Light to medium bodied with moderate to low carbonation. Slick, oily, and filmy in the mouth and goes down dry and prickly. Dry finish with a puckering aftertaste. Pretty good (though I like my sours a bit flat).

An ok beer overall but for what Cascade puts out, this isn't one of their better offerings. A bit flat and way too acidic and tart. I feel like the sour really covers all the complexities of the fruit they tried to use here. Where am I supposed to taste the toasted apricot seed meat? Cool to try but I wouldn't revisit this.

Thanks to Chris (congrats) and Eric for the opportunity to try this beer!
Served in a small fluted tasting glass, quick review from notes.

Golden orange in color with a slight haziness, frothy white foam on the surface settles quickly and deposits some frothy flecks of seafoam lace in the glass.

Aroma is sharp with some acetic acid and raspberry aromas, an inkling of something toasted which may be attributed to the apricot kernels, hard to say.

Taste is also sharply sour with vinegary traces of acetic acid in the mix, fruity sour notes blending seedy raspberry into other indistinct sour fruit notes. Bright and crisp with a very acidic edge to it, Carbonation is moderate, and it finishes dry with some traces of wet wood in the aftertaste. Overall pretty nice, and a bit more complex that the standard fruited sour ales in their lineup.

750ml bottle poured into a Cascade Barrel Room snifter

The beer pours a light amber color, touches of apricot color as well as garnet and light burgundy. Fairly hazy complexion with a half finger of fizzy white head that dissipates immediately and leaves no lace behind. The aroma is quite puckering and sour with funk, oak, wine character with nice rugged apricot with some prickly raspberry and strawberry. The beer is quite sour and lactic, lots of funk and oak, predominant raspberry and apricot fruit with some sweet strawberry and white grape. The body is very lively and puckering, lots of carbonation and that mildly abrasive at the finish which has a nice creaminess to it.

Verdict: A very pleasant sour from Cascade, which is no surprise. It has quite a nice fruit profile and the wine influence is a great subtle touch. The complexity is there and the balance is nice, but this is a fairly aggressively sour brew that isn't really all that delicate.
