Project 2011. 7.62%
750ml bottle poured into a tulip.

Appearance
Hazy copper with red highlights. 2 fingers of pinkish head with good retention for a sour. Very low carbonation.

Nose
Sour cherry, crushed Sweet Tarts, cherry Jolly Rancher and musty cellar.

Taste
Red wine vinegar and crushed up Sweet Tarts. Sour pie cherries, maraschino cherry juice and Jolly Ranchers (you know, the red ones). Some lemon and lactic acidity. Big red wine notes, perhaps Pinot Noir. There’s a touch of nuttiness and French oak on the finish as well as a hint of musty basement.

Mouthfeel
Light-medium bodied, tart, clean and refreshing.

Overall
Medium sourness. Loads of red wine. Cherries, cherries, cherries. Awesome!

Sampled in a chalice from a 750ml bottle purchased at Triangle Wine. 2011 Project.

Reddish brown with a haze and minimal head. Fantastic aroma with sweet and sour cherries. Flavors follow closely with loads of sour cherries and a hint of sweetness while still remaining on the drier side. A nice sour bite without it being completely dominant. The fruit flavors also play a key role with their depth and complexity. The consistency and carbonation are moderate with a smooth and silky finish.

This is an outstanding beer with a great combination of sour bite and fruit flavors. I liked it more and more with each sip. But with a significantly higher price than Rodenbach Grand Cru, I wouldn't make it a regular thing.
