Notes:
Riptide Pale Ale is a full flavoured, easy drinking craft brewed ale with a perfect balance of hop character, and malty smoothness. The clean, creamy feel and brisk, fresh flavours awake the taste buds and linger into a dry, crisp, citrus-noted finish.

A - hazy golden copper, thumb of head dissipated to a thin covering with a few smears of lacing left
S - a strange musty aroma, some herbal and toastiness, along with adjunct
T - caramel and bready malt with some herbal hops, but mostly overly sweet and adjunct flavours
M - average
O - i'll echo the sentiment of hoping to find a gem in this mixer, although I'm down to the last option....

355ml bottle poured into pint glass 31/1/12

A clear pale golden with some tiny suspended particles but she looks a little flat, fast falling thin film leaves no lace

S floral hops, butter, honey and candied corn

T reminds me more of a honey brown then a pale ale, sweet malts and faint fruit with a little toffee

M more bubbles then I could see, medium bodied and light aftertaste

O its a lawnmower beer, just something easy enough too drink but nothing special

I`m hoping there`s a hidden gem somewhere in my mixed 12 because pretty basic so far

A: Light golden brown with a thin head and tight lacing.

S: faint caramel and malt notes. Not very aromatic.

T: Light floral hop character and faint pale malt. Maybe a slight citrus in the after taste.

M: medium body and good carbonation, bitterness lingers on the sides of tongue.

D: This is an OK average beer, nothing special though.

This beer pours an attractive copper red colour with a firm, 1 finger white head that holds up decently well before very becomeing a very thin film, leaving some sparse lacing.

Smell is predominantly of creamy caramel malt and honey with some bread and butter notes as well as some herbal ones (Thyme comes to mind).

Taste is bready with lots of caramel malt and a touch of citrus. Some hints of fruit (like banana) hit me in mid sip along with the aforementioned herbal notes too. Finish is bread and butter with a slight bitter hop flavor.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and very creamy but with a well pronounced crispness in the background that finishes the sip off clean.

This is another highly drinkable offering from this brewery. Like most of their beers, this one doesn't knock your socks off but, at the same time, provides for a good taste experience. I could drink a few of these easily.

A new addition to the lineup, this comes in bottles with new graphics ( All Lighthouse beers came in cans before). Considering the IPA is not terribly hoppy this pale ale is also not a hop monster but rather a more full bodied version of Granville Island /Ok Springs Pale Ale. The beer is quite a solid session performer with enough hops and a good malt backbone to stay interesting after a few. The apple juice after flavour found in GI/OK pale ales is not apparent in this beer but rather a well rounded slightly malty finish makes this very food friendly. Not a real stretch for this brewer but rather a nice addition to a well made though conservative lineup.
