I had a Birthday in early December and decided to go here since there are not any places like this in Janesville. They had plenty of beer choices that I had yet to try and also offered quite a decent line of craft sodas that they make. The service was excellent. We were seated in the dinning room right away on a Thursday night and offered great service by the waitress. I will say that their beer mashed potatoes are great. My other family members really seemed to enjoy their food as well. A little pricey on their beers at $5 a glass, but this is a new restaurant so that's to be expected. They seemed to have a nice sports bar area off to the right as you came in that provided great atmosphere. I will definitely will hit this place up again.

Ugh. That's about all one can say about this place. I guess it's not surprising for Sprecher to have produced such a thoroughly milquetoast, suburban outlet for their product. It's always astonishing to first walk into such a faceless restaurant, completely devoid of character -- it's like stepping through a space-time wormhole and finding oneself transported to a prosperous shopping glen of Dallas or Virginia or Arizona. The particular location is equally nauseating, nestled in among the gleaming business-park office towers and needlessly wide, deserted streets.
Why did I come here if I can't stand places like this? I was trapped at a daylong meeting in the hotel convention center across the street.
My dinner was unremarkable. Service was competent.
Beer: my two selections were not good (Imperial Stout) and horrible (Abbey Trippel). I thought of ordering a Black Bavarian, which I've enjoyed elsewhere, but it was better to just get the hell out.

Went here after a trip to Ale Asylum.
Was a Monday evening...and a ghost town around 5 P.M.
Ordered my favorite Sprecher: Black Bavarian. My brother got his favorite: Abbey Trippel.
Musty cardboard. That is how I would describe the taste. It was BEYOND awful. Had the waiter take it back. Said flavor was likely from a less than thorough rinsing. New bier was better, but still tasted mildly of musty cardboard. Brother's bier was exactly the same.
I sit here writing this with a sick stomach, feeling nausea. I want to vomit...I cannot get this awful taste out of my mouth....
Pretzels I had were REALLY good. Service was great. I liked that they had the FULL line of Sprecher. Too bad something there is making it taste like garbage.
Root beer, on the other hand, was great!
This score is going to look good, but I would give this trip a 2.0 at the most...I really feel sick...so disgusting...
And, I *LOVE* Sprecher...

This place has been open a while - but it's in gasp, Middleton, so it took me until October to stop in, after a soccer game at Keva.
As we pulled into the parking lot, my buddy looked at me and said "i don't think we're going to like this". At 8:30 on a Friday night, the parking lot was overflowing. Our group of 7 did land a booth in the bar by skillfully bypassing the "list".
The location personifies the identity crisis of Middleton. Once a terrible Houlihans, then a gay bar in a wealthy conservative (by Dane County standards) community, and now a satellite location for a Milwaukee craft brewery.
The menu mimics many chains - fried appetizers, burgers and cliche entrees. The burgers looked good enough but i stuck to a few appetizers. The onion rings and stuffed mushrooms were both mediocre.
The atmosphere was a little irritating - i wont comment on the clientele (suburban). My main gripe was that they had 50 tv's all showing the same thing (miami heat), when there was a ncaa football game on and the Milwaukee bucks were also on (i dont care, but come on).
The beer list was pretty comprehensive and all sprecher. I went with the abbey dubbel, IPA, and Black Bavarian. No complaints there - those are 3 absolute winners from the sprecher line. Hopefully they can pull in some of the bizarre barrel beers in the future.
I won't go out of my way, but when in middleton in need of a pint, this will be strongly considered.
