Pours a clean orange-ish to yellow color with an off white head. In the aroma, fresh, sweet, and pine like hops. In the taste, a sweet fresh hop, pine like and almost minty, with a dry end. A hop bite and medium bodied mouthfeel, with a semi dry,, fresh hop aftertaste. Nice big fresh hop, almost too fresh with minty burn, quite nice though.

22oz bottle.
Pours a deep, clear amber with a creamy beige head that recedes to a soapy collar and leaves some spotty lacing. it's definitely a little darker than I was expecting.
The aroma is nice, with some fresh herbal hops, pine resin and some grassy notes. There's almost a minty character to the nose with some sweet malts thrown in.
The taste also has an herbal, minty character with some green resinous hops. Sweet caramel malts and light lemon zest. Finish is sweet by dry and not all that bitter.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and sticky with hops and a light, soft carbonation.
This is a nice beer from Terrapin, maybe a little bit of a let down after Hopzilla, but that's a pretty steep comparison. Drinkable stuff overall though.

Bomber into my Narke tulip...Pours a dark but clear copper with a huge tan head, really good retention and lacing. A huge fluffy cupcake icing cap, looks great...For a fresh wet hopped beer I thought the aroma would be exploding with yummy hops, its shockingly muted. Malty caramel, a touch of musky hops, that its, boring!...The taste is equally muted and boring, no flavor. Tastes like a watered down ipa, a quarter ipa, three quarters water. The finish brings a little more hops, nice bitter finish.
Pretty easy to drink, but no flavor, a Bud light IPA. Can't believe this is wet hopped. I would pass on this, MAYBE if on tap.

A - Pours with one finger of white foam, topping a perfectly clear, amber-brown body. The head settles fairly quickly and leaves moderate lace.
S - Powdery, fresh and green hops. Lots of pine with some orange, grapefruit, and pineapple. Sweet caramel malt in the background with some toffee.
T - Thick, rich caramel malt up front with notes of honey, red apple, and toasted grain. Moderate hop flavor appears in the middle with notes of candied orange and pineapple. The beer finishes with more dark, malty sugar and fruity hops that are balanced by moderate bitterness and some lingering, woody pine in the aftertaste.
M - Medium-thick body, moderate carbonation, and a slightly sweet finish.
D - The hop aroma is fresh and strong, just as one would expect. There is still significant hop character in the flavor, but it is not as powerful or fresh as in the aroma. The malt character is quite nice and richly accented by caramel and toffee, and while this is nice on its own, it doesn't seem to do much for the hops. They shine in the aroma, where they are supported by subtle malt, but the flavor profile is dominated by thicker malt that subdues the hops and makes them much duller than they are in the aroma. Overall, it is a nice wet IPA, but I wish the malt was a bit more subtle so that the hops could shine more effectively.

Pours a pale amber with a large, dense, foamy, off white head that has great retention. The nose is cirtusy and earthy; little to no malt aromas. The flavor is rather subdued; very light, bready malt and very light, citrusy, grassy hops. There are some piny notes as the beer warms. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, well carbonated, and a little crisp at first.
For me this is a pretty underwhelming IPA. It's not bad, but the flavors are light and there's nothing that really grabs my attention. I would definitely go with their Hopsecutioner over this offering.

I picked up this 22oz bottle at the Georgetown Deli (Wilkes-Barre) on 25JAN12, for $9.99. Label says it's made with fresh, wet 2011 Challenger hops. Time to indulge.
I poured 2/3 of the bottle into an imperial nonic. It is a bright, medium golden color, with a slight bit of haze. Carbo is scattered and passive, with very little head to speak of, save for a few white bubbles at the rim. A little lacing is present, though not all too much. The aroma is decent, suggesting a semi-sweet, fruity marmalade. The body is middle of the pack, with the feel being mostly smooth with a bit of light, airiness.
The flavor has some subtle fruity notes, with orange and tangerine coming through, albeit in a mild manner. More easily noted is a bitter hop aspect, a suggestion of earthy spiciness, and a hint of mint lurking in the background. Well, while this may supposedly be fresh, it doesn't present much in the way of "oomph". It's decent, but does not leave you yearning for more; especially at $9.99!! Prosit!!

A small-headed, copper colored beer, this beer has an appealing allure, but balls a bit short. It's aroma is modestly hoppy, not nearly a fresh as I expected, given the name. Fruit, a touch of alcohol, some herbal hoppiness and a touch of resin. Muted. The flavor is similar to the taste, with a bit of pale malt coming forth. Medium body. A bit of warmth, and a dry character in the finish. Could be much better.

Pours a look typical for the style, with a slightly hazed copper-orange-rust liquid sporting healthy bubble motion that feeds a fluffy off-white head. Lace sticks then slides immediately down the wall of the glass, with only a little of it sticking permanently.
Unsurprisingly for a fresh hop beer, the smells is fragrant, perfume-like, crisp, clean, breezy, pine-laden, pithy, citrus-rind goodness.
The taste is just what you might expect, being an extremely clean, breezy dose of hop-forward flavor, dangling somewhere between lemon rind and evergreen tips. Malt is quite subtle, having the mildness of a water cracker, present and pleasing but very much in a supporting role. It is to the hops what the cracker is to the pungent Roquefort cheese. Pretty dry and not much left in the finish other than a quick flash of lemon/lime zest.
Feel is tingly from carbonation but tempered by a medium body with just a tad of stick to it. Round enough, smooth enough, nice enough.
What's the problem? Seems this one is a little underrated. It's no hop bomb, but c'mon, "fresh hop" does not equal "hop bomb." It performs as advertised, no more and no less. Had they bulked up the malt a bit, we would have had something a little heartier, but then it would have lost as much as it has gained in being a true "fresh hop" flavor. I like, I like.

One quick review before we're off next door, where there is no motorized vehicle involved in getting home, though it is uphill, unfortunately. Thanks to stormking47 for this bottle, again, with the amount of beer he sent me, I'll be thanking him for a while yet.
Pours a pure copper kettle. Smell is mixed for a fresh hop brew, pale malts with a hint of Metallica, far too little citrus.
So Fresh & So Green Green is false advertising as a fresh hop beer. Fresh malts, perhaps, because they're driving this bus, terrifically sweet up front with lush honey. Hops are secondary, mostly floral & bittering, but they're drowned in the sweetness, which comes rushing back in after the hops pass, quickly. Very sticky, you can discern the resins of the fresh hops - but where did the taste go?
Pretty routine as an IPA, disappointing for a fresh hop. Heavy-handed on the malts, light on the hops, this isn't a bad beer, but it's certainly not what I expected.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into my Dogfish shaped pint glass. It poured dark amber in color with a fluffy white head filling the top inch of the glass.
The aroma has a nice fresh hoppiness to it. It has a nice juicy grapefruit citrusneness to it along with a little pine and earthy spice coming through. A bit of the malty and slight caramel flavors are present as well and provide a nice base for the hops.
The taste has more of the juicy citrusness then the aroma did with some nice tropical fruit flavors coming through as well. A grapefruit bitterness starts to show as you get close to the finish. The finish shows some nice sweetness and bitterness to it that both linger for a bit.
The mouthfeel is a little below average thickness and carbonation is moderate. Drinkability is good, I enjoyed it a lot. It showed off the nice fresh hops pretty well and was a pretty tasty beer overall.

So Fresh & So Green, Green has a dark copper colored body and a tan head that has decent retention and lacing.
The aroma has a bit of pale malt in the background, but it mostly focuses on the hops, especially fresh hops. Grassy, earthy flavors mix with bitterness and citrus.
I'm a fan of most fresh hop beers, and this one is no exception. Moderate bitterness comes with all kinds of fresh hop flavors. Citrus flavors lean more toward blood orange than grapefruit, and that juicy citrus mixes with loads of fresh cut grass and spicy earth flavors. A little bit of pale malt pops up, but just enough to provide a backbone. The finish has some more bitterness and hop flavor, mostly citrus notes. Overall the bitterness is muted in comparison to the hop flavors, which is something I have found with fresh hop beers; more hop flavor with less powerful bitterness.
The body is a little heavier than the average IPA, and as a result the beer feels a little bit creamy.
I went through this one really quickly. There is something about fresh hops that I love.

A- Pours a clear copper color with an off-white head with good retention and lacing.
S- The aroma is fresh leafy hops and some malt. I was expecting more hops in the nose, I was a little underwhelmed by the aroma.
T- The taste has some malt up front with a some fresh hop flavors in the finish. The hops are more flavorful than bitter. You can tell the hops are extremely fresh but I would have like to have seen the hops be a little more assertive in both the taste and aroma.
M- The mouthfeel is somewhere between light and medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.
D- Overall, this is a good solid highly drinkable brew. My only complaint is the hops are not quite as prevalent as I would have wanted. Worth a try.

On-tap at Cherry Bomb Grill served in a standard pint glass a crisp orange with a thin diminishing off white head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is a bit of crisp citrus hops. The taste is a nice amount of smooth crisp citrus hops in front of sweet malts. The beer is quite light, crisp and refreshing. This one is excellent on-tap, I would certainly seek it out again.

Pours a cloudy gold with a one-finger head that sticks around forever and leaves a lace ring. A wet, floral and spicy hop aroma along with some bread and caramel malt in the nose. Maybe a little thin or overcarbonated from the tap, but I found this beer to have a great hoppy bite as it is close to medium-bodied with a bready, cracker like dryness balanced w/ caramel and possibly honey sweetness and a great hop punch of citrus, spice and even a touch of grape. A great balance and while maybe not for all hopheads as the hops are simple and this beer is a tad sweet for a real hoppy IPA, I found it quite enjoyable.

Aroma is loaded with flowery and earthy fresh hops. The malty backbone is mildly detectable.
Taste is fantastic, by far the best wet/fresh hop ale I have ever had. So many of these beers are rubbish and this is fantastic. Loaded with fresh earthy and floral tastes but at the same time it is perfectly and wonderfully balanced by the simple malt makeup. This beer is so simple, yet delicious. The hops totally own this show but never ovberpowering or heavy handed.
Overall I am very impressed with this beer. I enjoyed it much more than I expected, since I've generally been a bit disappointed by wet hopped beers, but Terrapin is by far my new/current favorite brewing company.

thanks to key west for having this available at conch as a single and thank you to TSA for not breaking everything in my suitcase!
A - Cracked the bottle and poured into a duvel tasting tulip. Poured a really nice amber color with a thin pinky of white frothy head. Carbonation was lively and I could see the bubbles racing from the bottom center to the top of the pour. Lacing was semi sticky leaving some ringish clling. Clear and crisp...dare I say, so fresh and so clean clean?
S - Malty hops. One of the maltuer IPAs I've ever smelled. Tamer than most pale ales even. Smelled nice, but not really what I usually look for in an IPA.
T - Again, somewhat like a bitter pale ale. It is odd to have the bitterness without the hoppiness I would usually look for in this kind of brew. I wish there was a bottled on or freshness date since this kind of feels like what I expect an IPA to taste like after the hops flavoring becomes heavily faded. Malty and tame, but not as smooth as something like HoTD's Ruth...but along those lines. I find Ruth to be a relatively tame Pale Ale, but this is an IPA.
M/D - Surprisingly bitter and tingly in the mouth with the almost absent hop presence. An easy drinker but this is no IPA like I'm used to. I tend to expect a big hop profile and this beer is really lacking what in my opinion is the crucial element for the style. The malt backbone is dominating. Not a bad beer, but I wouldn't drink it if I was in the mood for an IPA.

A: Dark looking... evil even! It pours the darkest shade of red-orange I have seen in an IPA in a long time. Especially one that only clocks in at 6.6%. The force is definitely with the carbonation and the head is almost two inches and sticks around for a while, with great retention to boot.
S: Since this is wet-hopped, the nose is strong, floral, and somewhat earthy and the Amarillo is very distinctive.... even at a distance.
T: A bit on the thin side to be honest. The bitterness is so muted in fact, it almost tastes diluted. Nothing really special, and somewhat disappointing.
M: Smooth drinker for sure, the carbonation level is spot on, and there basically is not a sweetening element in this brew. Passable +.
D: The marketing-speak on Terrapin's website states that this is a celebration of the Amarillo hop. I totally get that, but I wish it weren't so expensive for such a one dimensional beer. Good effort, but I wouldn't repeat...

Red amber body, excellent clarity, topped by three fingers of soft white foam.
Aroma seems a mix of the hop spectrum: citrus, pine, and earthy herbal. Inviting and fresh.
A rather mild malt base slides around the mouth. Topped by earthy herbal hops - the pine and citrus in the nose doesn't seem to make it to the tongue.
Sloppy mouthfeel. Good drinkability.
A not bad IPA, but a lot of the nose didn't make it to the tongue. Doesn't carry the big fresh sensation of top notch wet hop ales. Expected more from Terrapin.

Poured from 22oz bottle. I think this one came from Bmoyer0301. I've traded so much as of recent I can't remember!
A- Pours a copperish color with some light orange highlights. One and a half finger white head shows light retention overall. Lacing on the sides of the glass was light and spotty.
S- Light piney hops in the front quickly get overcome by a caramel malt base. Alcohol is noticable in the ending along with earthy tones (mostly grassy). Plain and simple although I expected a lot more from a fresh hop beer.
T- Front of this beer is a one two combo of piney bitter hop bite with a follow through of grapefruit citrus hops. Nice upfront to this beer. The middle dies down exposing the caramel malt backbone to the beer. This in itself tastes more toasted than anything else which I found a little odd for this beer...expected more of a bready taste. Alcohol sneeks up for a split second on the ending which in turn gets covered by a light bitter hop bite.
M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the beer itself. Piney hops with a hint of caramel malt gets left on the palate. Aftertaste is mostly alcohol and bitter hops that fade leaving it more of a warming alcohol. Medium drying on the palate from the alcohol. Flavors were well balanced for a fresh hop beer. No off flavors that I could spot in this one!
D- This beer was good. Nothing over the top which might have been its only downfall at times. Still a nice drinking lower ABV beer. Would love to try on a crisp fall day..now I bet that would be good!

A: Deep clear amber in color. Forms a thin, but stable, off-white, bubbly, rocky head. Little lacing.
S: For a fresh hop beer, there is a strong malt component to the aroma. Aroma is also very "green" and herbaceous. Almost to the point of being minty or reminiscent of parsley.
T: Much like the aroma, this beer is rather malty with more of the herbaceousnecss. Parsley-like. Mildly sweet. Mild to moderate bitterness. The herby flavor hangs on the tongue.
M: Medium in weight, though somewhat sticky, with appropriate carbonation.
D: A decent beer, with a very fresh, herbal taste, but somehow this beer fails to showcase the beauty of the fresh hop.

Thanks to titosupertramp for the surprise bottle.
a: This poured a chill-hazed, ruddy copper color with a large, uneven head.
s: Nice balance between soft, caramel and vanilla and the fresh smelling grassy citrus of the hops.
t: Here as well, they struck a very nice balance. The malt base is sweet, but not rough or cloying. I tasted caramel, toffee, and vanilla. The hops were a bit muted for a fresh hop ale, but the flavors were very nice. Lightly bitter citrus with an earthy finish that was very appealing.
m: Sticky body with a nice lingering hop bite.
d: I generally expect over the top hops in a harvest ale, but I really like what they did here. Damn tasty brew.

2011 on the bottle, so I don't think this was just brewed once.
Appearance: Nice copper amber body holds a thin cover and laces the glass in places.
Smell: Lightly leafy but fresh hop nose on a lightly worty base of grain.
Taste: Beer is generally balanced, hops are flavorful but not oily or bitter, the malt is clean but a bit under attenuated and worty. The two elements play well and both are light and easy.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body, medium carbonation, almost watery feel.
Overall: A really nice pale ale, but given it's shooting for the IPA range, it's falling a bit short. Still, nothing wrong here, great flavor, refreshing, good stuff.
Thanks to Illudium for the bottle!

Good fresh hop IPA!!! Pours a clear copper color with a nice sized white head, good retention and good spotty lacing.
Smell of floral hops
Tastes very good. Floral and piney hops with just enough malt to keep it from being a totally unbalanced hop bomb.
Mouthfeel is rich and crisp, The fresh hop oiliness is very evident.
Drinkability is very good. I could drink a lot more of this

Poured into a pint glass
A - Pours a dark orange-amber with a creamy off-white head. Nice retention and lacing.
S - Obviously there's a good amount of hops, but it's a bit more subdued then I would have guessed for a fresh-hopped beer. Spicy pine and grapefruit hops dominate with a slightly sweet caramel malt background.
T - More pine resin and grapefruit with a bit of tangerine and pineapple for good measure. Sweet caramel malt balances the bitterness a bit, but this is nicely hop-forward without being a hop-bomb.
M - Medium-bodied, slightly creamy. Nice, medium carbonation level, just right for this style.
D - Quite drinkable, this is a nice example of a fresh-hop beer. One of the best Terrapin offerings I've had lately, kudos guys!

22oz bottle poured into a dimpled mug
Pours a pretty amber, clean and bright. A two finger ecru cap falls to form a thin collar and leaves some dots of lace behind.
Hmm. Fresh hop IPA? I know this is probably close to two months old, but boy have these hops faded. This is more of a dry hopped lager, not sure what the other reviews say.
The aroma is earthy and musty with a clean, crisp lager yeast like aroma. Some faint oranges and pine are a little difficult to pick out.
On the palate, this guy is very similar to the nose. Clean and crisp throughout with some earty spice up front. Orange rind and pine needles come through in the finish. Some lingering juicy orange.
Medium body, clean and crisp on the finish. This truly reminds me of a dry hopped lager and not a wet hop ipa.
A nice beer that I think a little age hurt. Still, if this was intended to be a fresh hop lager, this is well above average. But as a fresh hop ipa, this is short of middle of the road.
