12oz bottle into a snifter.
Pours a hazy orangish-brown with a one finger white head that fades away pretty quickly. A fairly solid white ring is left around the top of the beer with some splotchy lacing.
The aroma is filled with tropical fruit and grapefruit, oranges, and pineapple. Not a whole lot of malt but the juicy hops more than make up for it.
Huge hop burst upon tasting with a big rush of tropical fruit much like the aroa. Grapefruit, mango , pineapple, and orange are predominant. There is some nice biscuit malt character in the background and just a quick whiff of alcohol about halfway through. Bitterness is quite high but does a great job of counteracting the sweetness from the malt. Mouthfeel is slick and fairly dry for the style with a very balanced finish.
Overall, an extremely well done IIPA. Alcohol is very well hidden and the mouthfeel is not overly sweet as often happens with these beers. Great hop and malt balance and really quite drinkable for the strength. A nice beer.

poured from tap into unibroue tulip at Kickbacks in Jacksonville, FL. Big foamy pour over a deep burnt orange color. Nice hoppy sweet malt piney aroma.
Taste is malty sweetness..[piney but is balanced by the sweetness. Tastes of sweet malt, slight dried fruit and toffee, and hops. I would actually call this a strong ale; not a DIPA. Its way too sweet and way to strong...but its damn tasty! whatever you call it, its great

This is an interesting dipa in that it's not trying to blow my mind by blowing away my palate. Thick flavor profile with a slightly noticeable boozy tone, but not as much as I would expect for a 10.7% beer. A nice drinker. I could certainly deal with slightly less of a boozy tone, less prevalent malts, and a higher hop influence. It's a nice enough drinker though.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz. bottle into an Upland pint glass.
A: Pours a hazy deep gold, forms a one-finger white head over medium visible carbonation.
S: Hops! Tropical fruit, dank, citrus, and a bit of pine. Background of light biscuit or cracker malts.
T: Follows the aroma in notes, but this is closer to balanced than expected from the nose. Hop flavors of citrus, tropical, grapefruit/pineapple and dank grassy come through without big bitterness - I assume this had lots of late hop additions. A mild spicy/onion hop character shows up near the end, with only mild bitterness in the hang.
M: Medium body, low alcohol presence, decent carbonation sensation.
O: Quite enjoyable, but nothing to make it stand out. Certainly paled in comparison to the Stone Enjoy By I drank following this bottle. But I wouldn't turn down another.
