As advertised this is strong, coffee-flavored brew.
The pour is excellent. Coffee black with a tan head which seems to slowly rise well after the pour.
Smells of coffee, malt and slight chocoloate. Tastes like strong coffee, kind of a smokey/burnt hint in there. Malty flavor.
Mouthfeel is pretty good. Thick black coffee sits with you... like the consistency of office coffee left overnight.
Drinkability is ok/average. I'm good for one before bed. Maybe I should try one in the morning.

On tap at Kickbacks. Big stout aroma. A sipper: with wine character, fruitiness, and coconut. The coconut throws me off a bit, though others like it. Black, little head, this one was aged a while.
Decent mouthfeel. I have to have this in the winter in front of a fireplace. As a cask, would throw off the carbonation and be easier and smoother to go down.

Wow, first time have this wonderful stout from Terrapin and what a cool fun coffee stout it is.
Pours very dark which appears thick, somewhat like oil or old gas station coffee. Had to splash the last bit to get some head. Head was carmel in color with darkened highlights on the top sprinkled about and measured about one and half fingers.
Overwhelming coffee aroma like espresso or dark chocolate.
Obvious stout with strong dark malt but then a bit more complex with lots of coffee and cocoa notes. If you go deeper you can taste oatmeal and oak
Drinks smooth, full body, high alcohol seems hidden but similar to your morning joe one or two should do.
After taste is a bit noticeable, think red wine or pipe smoke. With a big boy stout I expect that comes with the Terrapitory.
Great beer and I look forward to having again

I'm going to mark out over this beer right now...
Pours a jet black with the most majestic, dark brown head I've ever seen on a beer.
Smells like coffee with a fair amount of roasted malts
Tastes like dark coffee/espresso but the chocolate and alcohol actually cool it off a little. What I love the most about this beer is that it's not your run-in-the-middle thin, watery stout. It's full bodied and puts the hammer down all day, every day.
Mouthfeel is substantial....if you finish a four pack, you'll be in the wheel barrow. Its a beer better shared with friends. But, hey, if you wanna have two....this is America and you're welcome to do what you goddam please.
Overall, I'd categorize this as an "imperative stout", Any of my friends who have made it past the "Guinness is too dark" stage have earned themselves a shot at this big boy. Especially coffee drinkers...I doubt they thought this kind of flavor could be captured in a beer.
On draft, out of the bottle, or out of a glass shaped like a boot your homeboy has at his apartment, take this beer, tuck it away, and cherish it. It's truly another marvel of the American craft beer industry.

Pours jet black with more than a finger of tan head. The head dissipates rather quickly, but there is modest lacing present as the beer goes down.
Hints of coffee in the nose are pleasant. Roasted malt is present in the flavor profile, but I am not really getting any coffee. Also, the roasted malt lacks the burnt bite of a top flight double stout. The semi-bitter, chocolatey finish is a fine capstone to a fine effort.
Good, but not a top tier double stout.
Update: Sampled this a second time in February 2013 at a local Terrapin tasting. This time, there was much more coffee in the flavor profile. When I spoke with the Terrapin rep, he mentioned that this is the kind of offering that needs to be consumed almost as soon as it is bottled because the coffee flavor erode quickly with age.
