Purchased a 6-pk from Wegman's in Warrington, PA. Hadn't heard too much about this beer but the name got me since I like hops...a little deceiving there but we'll get to that.
Cost: $11.99/6pk
Enjoyed on Thanksgiving Day from a Dogfish Head Signature Glass
A - Pours a deep amber, almost orange color. Nice two finger head that settles leaving just a slight foam ring around the glass. Decent lacing left while drinking.
S - Smells like a normal IPA with nice citrus notes. Actually smells a bit sweeter than some of the IPA's I've tried.
T - Here's my only "beef". With a name like "Hopsecutioner" I figured this was going to be real hoppy, which I love. It is hoppy but no where near what the name would imply. Very malty with a sweet background. The hops are there, don't get me wrong, but by no means a "hop bomb". Tastes good though for what it is.
M - Nice amount of carbonation. Leaves a nice citrusy, hop taste on the tongue after each sip.
D - Great drinkability. Ever with an ABV of over 7%, I'd never had guess it since the alcohol is well disguised. I finished off two very easily and could have had more but wanted to switch up to some other beers I had brought for the afternoon of Thanksgiving Day football.
Overall: I real nice beer. I will buy again but for those trying it for the first time...just don't let the name fool you.
Cheers!

Served on tap at the EMORY Convention Center and Hotel Friday 24 May after a 2-day drive from Connecticut. Delicious and very satisfying. This would be my regular brew if not for Dogfish 60-minute IPA. Liked this Terrapin in the bottle, like it better on tap.

Poured from the bottle into a mug.
Look: A golden yellow with a one finger head, which went down to a thin ring. The lacing was minimal, not what I'm use to with a great IPA.
Smell: The standard notes you come to identify with an IPA. Nothing particular stands out for me, but it's still a very decent aroma. Just wish there was something a bit underneath.
Taste: I had to visit the website out of curiosity on their hops, they don't seem to specify but say there are six different types. I think for me, that's where the problem might be. I personally like a smaller variety (2-3 range) so I can try to identify them. The result here seemed to just be a bunch of citrus, grassy taste. Again, decent, just nothing really stood out.
Feel: A generally well balanced brew. The malts are prevalent enough to give it that balance. A medium-light beer that I could drink anytime.
Overall: A good beer, just nothing too special. There are a few others in this category that I would seek out before coming back to this one. Worth trying definitely.
