Looks more like a stout than any IPA I've had - very dark with a thin tan head. The scent was promising - smelled a bit like fresh peaches to me - but the taste was a bit of a letdown. Malts give a bready flavor up front followed by floral flavor from the hops, and a slight tart grapefruit in the aftertaste. To be fair, it is well balanced, but not a taste that I find particularly appealing. I did like it a bit more as I drank it and it warmed a little. But not a beer I'd seek out again.

12 oz bottle was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: This beer poured a one finger head that reduced to a thin layer and left nice lacing on the glass. It is a copper brown color with good clarity when held up to the light and bubbles coming up through the glass. Awesome lacing on the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Caramel, chocolate, malty, molasses, citrus, and pine.

Taste: Same as above. Pretty tasty for a brown and IPA mix.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, low to medium carbonation, medium bodied, and quite the treat.

Overall: Pretty nice hoppy brown ale. Too bad Terrapin doesn't make it up to NE. I have to grab it while traveling.

Poured a hazy medium brown with a frothy off white head. Good lacing left behind. Smell was hops and a little sweetness from the malt (a little chocolate and nuttiness). Taste is more of the same, with a great balance of hops and full malt taste. There's a little doughy taste as well, which was a nice surprise. Mouthfeel on this one is great and really carries the flavors well.

A very interesting beer; I can't think of anything I've tried that is similar. Definitely on top of the Terrapin offerings for me at this point.
