A - Pours a nice golden straw color with a solid finger of near white head, great retention, excellent sticky lacing.
S - Sweet bready caramel malts, candied fruit aroma and a little funk, and maybe a trace of grassy/citrusy hops.
T - Mmmm much drier and more bitter than expected! Dry bitterness and yeasty funk/sugary orange come on quite strong (not crazy about that part). Malty sweetness is seemingly overpowered. Really nice grassy/pilsner aftertaste that hardly makes an appearance through all the other punches being thrown from this one.
M - Totally different that imagined, pretty full bodied for sure, thick, almost a sipper. Appropriate carbonation given its thickness.
O - Pretty solid, not everything I hoped it was but a nice surprise. Bold, dry, really not very pilsnerish at all for me, more like a golden hopped up dry ale with some funk

22 oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass at fridge-cellar temperature.
L – Deep gold color with a big 4-finger rocky, pillowing, white head. Nice retention but not really much lacing. Clear with a moderate amount of bubbles – not really that many for a pilsner.
S – Bready and grainy malt with a pretty nice hop profile with orange, grassy, herbal, and earthy notes.
T – A little bit of orange sweetness starts the taste with bitter earthy, floral, herbal, and citrus hops coming in close behind. As the bitterness fades, bready and grainy malt flavors become more apparent. Pretty tasty, but definitely more hop heavy than I was expecting.
F – Medium-bodied with good carbonation, a crisp and somewhat prickly mouthfeel from the carbonation, and a bittersweet and slightly dry finish. Sweet bready malt and bitter herbal hop flavors linger nicely. There’s a little bit of heat from the alcohol, as well.
O – This is a very interesting beer. I haven’t really had many “imperial pilsners”, and drinking them is a little bit of a strange experience. It looks like a pilsner, but this one smells and tastes a bit more like a pale ale with all the hops and bready malt. Also, the warmth from the ABV is interesting because I wasn’t really expecting it. Most beers that look like this don’t have that warm kick. Despite all this weirdness, this is a pretty tasty beer and one that I’m glad I got to try.

A: single finger head with excellent lacing on a cloudy golden with orange hues body.
S: clean and mild with mostly pale malts and light sweet citrus with almost noting else coming through for me.
T: grains and both bready and pale malts. Mildly bitter without any sweet flavors. the citrus is even more understated than was picked up in the aroma.
M: medium body and moderate carbonation.
Overall: I actually really liked how drinkable this one is. so many of these are too boozy and although it is simple, its flavorful enough for my liking.

Thanks to cpinto6 for this interesting beer, another one from the great brewery Terrapin, and after Obama was elected again, yay.
Pours a pasty white fluffy 1.5 finger head that fades at a med pace, surprisingly light lacing thought, over mostly clear golden tan colored with a slight wheat beer like haze.
Nose has strong malts, straw, light wheat like almost hay, toasty golden malts, light booze and sweetness, light grassy herbal hops.
Taste continues, more big malts, sweetness with toasty golden malts, some straw and a big pilsner malt flavor but very little of the pilsner softness or crispness, a juicy sweet malty flavor, like fermented malt juice (imagine that). Then big hops, grassy herbal hops, lightly spicy and earthy too, with a fair amount of bitterness that ramps the more I swirl it around my mouth. Some warming booze in teh background weighs down the sweetness and bitterness. Finish is a bit drier but sticky and semi sweet, more lingering booze warmth and light pilsner malts, and a long semi bitter herbal hop finish.
Mouth is med bodied but feels bigger than it should for a pilsner, hence the imperial, with some warming booze and decent carb.
Overall decent, malts are pretty good but a bit too heavy for a pilsner, imperial pilsners just don't make sense to me, it's counter intuitive as a pilsner is supposed to be soft light and crisp, this is very little soft and crisp, and not light by any means. The hops are not much my cup of tea either, herbal, grassy in the wrong way, and fairly bitter that offsets the beer a bit. The sweetness, booze, and bitterness balance fairly well though.

This beer is now retired, huh? Hmmm... I just bought this one two days ago!
The "Imperial Pilsener" has always been an anomile to me. Aren't pilseners supposed to be light and refreshing? 8.9% ABV kinda negates that.
Served in an Elysian tulip.
A: Poured a clear, gold color, with little to no chill haze, and a very soft 1/4 finger head that melted into one even smaller.
S: Smelled like an Amber/Imperial Red. Sorta like a very hoppy red-velvet cake. So far, I dig this in that particular style class.
T: Like a DIPA, with muted hops, sugar in place of leaf, and with a slight bitter kiss on the very tail end. Much better than I was expecting.
M: Sort of a honey-like texture, with a sugary disposition for sure, but no booze to speak of (unlike DFH's "My Antonia)."
O: I rarely go into a session knowing that I will hate the beer I'm about to drink. However, this was one of those where I knew I was going to... NOT!
