Poured from bottle purchased at flying saucer in Nashville. Pours a deep black with tan sticky head into pint glass. Thiss looks awesome.
Smell is nothing short of orgasmic. It literally smells like a cup of coffee. ..with a slight hint of roasted malts.
Taste is just perfect coffee. ..espresso really. Not much else...
I wish I can break this down into more flavors but I cant. Its alcoholic coffee and its amazing. Quite possibly my fav coffee brew out there.

A - Jet black with little head. Looks like a glass of black coffee.

S - Dominated by coffee, followed up by roasted malts, chocolate, and a hint of vanilla.

T - Follows the nose, with a heavy, fresh, black coffee flavor. In addition, there is a noticeable presence of roasted malts and chocolate, with just the slightest hint of vanilla. The coffee bitterness is definitely there, as well.

M - Medium-bodied with balanced carbonation. Creamy texture.

O - Delicious beer. Well worth the wait and searching. Highly recommended for those who enjoy coffee stouts as much as I do. I compare this to Founder's Breakfast Stout, as I feel the two taste pretty similar.

look: 4.5 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.5

Appearance: Pours nearly black with 1/2 finger of a dark tan, almost brown head. Body is opaque

Smell: Wafts to your nose from 3 feet way. Coffee and chocolate easily. It feels like Tom and Jerry when the Cheese smell lifts Jerry off of the ground.

Taste: Tastes like I smell thank you very much. Chocolate, coffee and malt come through well

Mouthfeel: Creamy and finishes with a warm alcohol feel.

Overall: If you like coffee stout, this is a must have.

2012 Vintage into Kuhnhenn tulip

Thanks LiquidDegenerate

Pour: A typical dark pour but the darkness on this one for some reason exudes a creaminess to me. A nice finger of chocolate milk colored head that is persistent.

Smell: Up front there is a nice coffee aroma that is neither bitter nor sweet. It is a great balanced coffee aroma with some of the typical players: chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla.

Taste: Like the nose with the coffee the main player and in the background chocolate, molasses, a touch of vanilla, and the roasted notes. I find it somewhat astringent and more bitter than I'd like. I find it actually somewhat artificial tasting.

Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied but a little let down because I find it a little too thin. It is creamy and smooth albeit a little astringent to me.

Overall: Can't help but to compare and I'd take Founders Breakfast Stout to this any day. Disappointed in this one to be honest. I like it but I'll stick with FBS, thanks.
