Going here is the highlight of my year. It is an outdoor oasis with the best cocktails my wife and i have ever had, im more of a beer drinker and now they have proclamation on tap. Didnt think this place could get much better but it just did. The bartender john is the man and the other bartenders and staff are just wicked chill and laid back. This is the perfect way to take a break from the beach before heading back to the cottage before dinner...and then heading back after dinner for some late night snacks and night caps

I travel to North Truro (1 mile from Provincetown) every summer, and from now on will be visiting this establishment every time I'm in town.

A very nice outside bar/restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Bar is on the small side, but there are a fair amount of tables. I can see this getting packed to the gills during the dinner rush, so it may be best to visit earlier. It was pretty busy when my girlfriend and I went around 3 pm, but service was still excellent. I never had to finish my beer before being asked if I needed another, yet I wasn't pestered every three minutes like I've been at some bars. Place has 16 taps that they alternate very often, some daily. A huge amount of bottles, and all beers had their styles listed. I sampled in order a draft each of Victory Lager, Bear Republic Cafe Racer 15, Allagash Black, and finally a bottle of DFH 90 Minute. All were served at a perfect temperatue IMO, not ice cold, but still cool. In addition, all tasted delicious and fresh. The place is slightly on the pricey side, but then again, nothing is cheap in P-town. With that being said, I had no problem paying the prices for great beer and outstanding service. Slightly more pricey then one of the other popular craft beer bars in P-town, The Squealing Pig, but MUCH MUCH better service and atmosphere. Didn't try any of the food menu, so I can't comment on that. I did have a look at the menu out of curiosity though, and prices seemed very reasonable, and someone around me had wings that smelled so good they drove me crazy once they hit my nostrils! Am assuming the food is quality.

So to summarize, excellent tap and bottle selection, good atmosphere, outstanding service and fair prices. I highly recommend this establishment for any quality beer lover. A must-stop if you're anywhere near P-town.

What a great addition to Provincetown its now my first choice when I get into town sorry Squaling Pig.
I've been a few times over a 2 week period the first time wasn't able to get a seat at the bar which has about 10 stools and all the tables were full. It's an outside bar and the company I was with didn't want to stand waiting for something to open up in the 90 degree weather. Other times I've been there got a sit at bar no problem which is we're you want to sit if you can. Sometimes the tap list isn't as up to date so it's best to do a visually check. They have about 13 taps and maybe 35 bottles. I didn't get into the bottles offen except to have Dog Fish World Wide Stout and 120 Minute because the tap list was so good. Weyerbacher, Souther Tier, Dog Fish etc. is what was on tap stuff that usually isn't on taps at othe bars.
The service was good didn't have to wait long for drinks or food. Bartender gave a few recommendations seem to know what he was talking about.
I ordered a cheese platter which was excellent went well with one of the Stone and Ommegang beers that was on tap. I've also had the Pommes Frites cooked in duck fat just had to it came with a few dipping sauces that were out of this world.
Overall might be best beer bar on the Cape. Since its totally an outside bar plan your visit accordingly to the weather.

June 23, 2012, in Provincetown for the weekend, and heard this place, Nor'East Beer Garden might be a better craft beer bar than The Squealing Pig. Walked over after 10pm after eating at The Pig, and sure enough, a much better selection on tap, and very reasonable prices. I had a pint of Stone Ruination IPA for $6.00, my sister had a Troeg's Troegenator Double Bock , bottle, $6, and our friend had a pint of Sierra Nevada Ovila Quad also about $6. A very good, diverse selection of American and Belgain craft beers. About 20 on tap, with a rotation of about 8 on a daily o weekly basis.
Most of the seating seemed outdoors, so I guess it's not open in the winter. Great ambience, service much better than expected, got a table right away, although prefered the bar as some taps were new and not on the beer menu yet.
One good feature is you can buy the tap beers either by the pint or half pint for about half price, nice idea !
For Provincetown, where I go once a summer to visit my sister, this will now be my first choice for Craft/small barrel beers by far. The Squealing Pig will be second , and Way Way Downtown third. Way Way Downtown has a several bars, a band, a deck on the water, much more pricier than Nor East or The Pig.
We did not eat at Nor'East, so won't comment. But the menu looked great and fair for P'town.

The beer selection at Nor East would be considered solid anywhere, but at the end of the world in Provincetown it could be considered outstanding.

About 13 taps, all American crafts. From what I recall: 14th anniversary and Heresy from Weyerbacher, Coffee Porter and Shabadoo from Berkshire, Allagash Black, Mayflower Pale Ale, Bear Republic Stout, Dogfish Festina Peche and a few more.

At least 40 different bottles. I didn't pay close attention to the list because the drafts were good enough to satisfy my drinking needs.

Prices are fair for the area. The bar is quite narrow so if you are going with a big crowd it may be tricky. A good looking bar and tons of flowers make it an appealing place to spend a few hours.

During my week in Ptown I excpected the Squealing Pig to be my only place for good beer but NE Beer Garden surpassed it in beer selection and atmosphere.

Made it out to the first night but couldn't get dinner due to time constraints. Rather nice beer list and knowledgeable staff, too. My lovely girlfriend and I split an Unearthly then she got a Double Simcoe from Weyerbacher and I got a Blithering Idiot. It got a somewhat hectic later in the evening as it got more crowded so it was a little tougher to get our drinks. But considering how many people were there in the small area it wasn't really a big deal. Great spot for people watching but get there early because this place will be tough to get in to, especially on nice days. Can't wait to see what they carry on draft when they get their lines in.
