I am really happy Brett decided to open up in NJ, he is a great guy and loves to talk brewing.

He has a great selection of ingredients for beer and wine making enthusiasts. If there is something you want that he does not have in stock, just ask and he will order it for you. The shop is well stocked and nicely organized, the back room is all set up with some awesome burners and vent hood along with a stainless steel sink.

Brett plans on offering brewing lessons and also can have brew sessions at the shop so you don't even have to worry about messing up your kitchen.

Recently when I was in the store a woman walked in for some priming sugar that he husband needed that night, she asked if she could pay by credit card since she was out of cash, Brett told her just to take it for free and catch up with him next time, now that is the kind of customer service you just don't find anymore.

If your in the South Jersey area, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Great shop! Very competitive prices. Extremely knowledgeable owner. Always fully stocked. Private brewing classes available too. When I started brewing, I would always order online because I was getting better prices than other LHBS's. Then I found Brew Your Own Bottle. I now use this shop for all my brewing needs. Prices are the same or cheaper than the online sites. And the knowledge from the owner and other employees is unmatched. It's also a place you can just go to, pick up your brewing supplies and hang out for a little while with the owner Brett and talk about beer and brewing. You may even have a pint while there!

the service is small store friendly, the knowledge base is top notch, the selection of items available is great and the prices are remarkably reasonable... often the same as mail order without the shipping expense. it's not really local for me, but i have stopped in more than once and have been quite pleased.

If you are any where near the cherry hill area in new jersey, you should make it a point to stop in and see for yourself...located on haddon ave in westmont. introduce yourself to the proprietor, Brett Mullin.

Super shop. Proud to have this as my local HBS. Brett has a bright, clean, well organized, and beautifully laid out shop. He has just about everything you could need on hand, and what he doesn't have he'll be happy to order for you. Huge liquid yeast library to file through, as well a healthy hop selection. And all the specialty grains you could ask for. Brett is very knowledgeable, as well as Evan, if you happen to be there when he is helping out.

I've never made use of it, but his brew kitchen in the back looks to be a sweet place to learn the art if you got the chance. Brett usually has a few of his experimental brews on tap, and he is always game to share a pint.

I found this place while looking for a great home brew shop in southern NJ. It is hard to find a great place with good and professional help. The owner is always there to help and to give advise on any questions you may have. This place is for every level of brewers, from beginners to experienced. The selection in this store is great, if for any reason you may not find something you need, you can ask to order it and you will have it the very next day. The prices can't be beat. I have found that everything I by there is usually $1 to $5 cheaper than even buying over the internet. Plus you don't have to pay shipping. One of the great things about this place is that if you have limited space at home you can brew, store, and bottle your beer at the store. Great place.

This shop is pretty wonderful. The owner learned my name the first time I entered the shop, and has remembered me every time since. The owner will go out of his way to assist any home-brewer with whatever challenges they face, Very knowledgeable on every problem I've ever had. He has also ordered equipment for me several times now, and get it delivered incredibly quick.

I've been to the shop more times than I can count now, and have no plans to stop going anytime in the future.

I'd give the shop a higher rating if I could: A+++

I've been going to BYOB since it opened up and i am so pleased to have this place around. Brett is an amazing dude, and has proven to be very ambitious and efficient. The selection is very wide, he carries almost anything and everything one would need to either get started brewing on their first batch ever, or for the all-grain brewer who has been doing it for many decades. If he doesnt have it, which is rare, he can and will special order whatever you need and it will be in stock within a day or two..i don't know any other customer service as efficient as that. Prices are right where they should be, very fair.

The shop atmosphere is very organized, rugged (you know you are in a homebrewshop), and very well-kept.

Brett also offers beer brewing lessons at BYOB. He is very knowledgeable on the subject and seems to be enthusiastic with educating people about beer. After talking to him and stopping in a few times you will find that he is more about just the "business" aspect of it, he desires to get to know you. I know when i go in and get my supplies in order i can shoot the breeze with him, he's a cool guy.

If you haven't stopped in to BYOB, do it..you will find yourself walking through those doors much more!

Great place for homebrewers to get equipment, ingredients and knowledgeable advice on brewing beer. From beginners to experienced brewers -- something for everyone. Cool place, cool owner, cold beer -- what more do you want?

Because the geniuses at BeerAdvocate require 500 words, minimum, I repeated my review. And, now, because I still don't have enough words, I am writing an explanation why I am writing more words. My review was so nice, I said it twice!

BYOB is just a few miles from my house. I was happy when it opened because the other two shops I used were 45 minutes away with traffic. Then one of them closed.

It turns out that convenience is not the best part of this shop. Rarely is BYOB out of an ingredient. The owner knows his customers and brewing and has an uncanny knack for stocking extra of uncommon ingredients when a new recipe starts trending.

The prices are reasonable and the quality and service unmatched. The only thing I can find fault with is that not all brewing equipment is available there. But, to be fair, this isn't a warehouse store. When BYOB doesn't carry something, they don't hesitate to help you find it; even if it's from a competitor.

From the moment you walk into BYOB you will feel at home. It is a cozy little shop packed with abundant and fresh ingredients. Brett is very good about taking care of his customers and is knowledgeable about the brewing process. I have never gone there and been disappointed with the service I have gotten there. Brett runs a business where the customer comes first and the customer is what is important.

I can't recommend this homebrew shop enough. My only complaint is it is not close enough to my house. But is well worth the trip there.

This is the best homebrew store that i have gone to. Everything there is organized fresh and high quality. The store is clean and organized. There is also a large selection of ingredients and supplies. The service is great and every question and equipment need that I have has been quickly and clearly answered and taken care of by someone who cares about what you are brewing not just trying to sell you things. The price of some things are about the same as other places or lower with some good deals i have found.I would recommend this store to anyone in the area.

This place is excellent. As a beginner home brewer I found Brett to be extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and more than willing to lend a helping hand to the craft. I'm glad I set foot into his store because I would not be making beer without his help. The store is clean, it has a very nice selection of products, some too big for the store, and the price is very good. I am also hoping to gather up a group of friends for the home brewing class at some point. You can't go wrong at this place! It is also very convenient considering the closest place is over the bridge in Philly. Parking is good and the beer in the town is decent as well if you decide to stop and have a drink on your way home.

Very happy to find a home brew shop open up in South Jersey. Good location, right on 561.

Stopped in and met Brett over the weekend, early September, 2010. Was not prepared to buy ingredients for a specific recipe, so I'll update this review after I've done that. But I did pick up a partial mash kit for pumpkin beer. Price for that was comparable with those I've found online.

Selection was good. Looked at the dates on the yeasts, which were all current and not close to expiring. Overabundance of DME choices, plus all the other gadgets you need. Good price on corney kegs for those like me who keg their homebrew: 30 bucks and apology that he had to raise the cost by 3 bucks last month.

But the best part was talking with Brett. Very knowledgeable.

Will update in a few when I do some real shopping, but based on the initial time, I'm sure it will be quite positive.

Hours are great. Brett is there 90% of the time. This helps as if you have a question or problem he can walk you thru it.
BYOB Supports both Wine and Beer lovers. A full service store. Store is well stocked but he will also order anything you need.
One new thing is he sells full "systems" at a VERY reasonable price
Oh yea, you can brew there as well.

Barley Legal is a Homebrew Club that he supports

Some make it a destination just to taste some homebrew there.

Great Customer Service.

I've been to BYOB a half dozen times already and they just opened up. The place is immaculate and they stock just about everything you could ever need, regardless of whether you are just getting into the hobby or you are a die-hard all-grainer.

The prices are very good, from grain to sanitizers, equipment to hops. Everything under one roof with a huge selection. They are priced as low as the larger Internet home brew shops on most items.

There was one item in particular that I couldn't find anywhere. Brett not only found it but had it in hand ready for me within 2 days. Talk about excellent customer service.

If you live in South Jersey or Philly, you have to stop in and say hello while you pick up some supplies.
