i have known about and liked this place for awhile, and recently learned they had been (and maybe still are?) doing some contract brewing for almanac, which i think gives them some instant credibility, even id there isnt much hype on the streets in these parts about their beers. i was glad we were able to make it in here and check it out, they have a pretty minimal taproom, lots of production and barrel space in behind an industrial feeling sort of cobbled together space, picnic tables and sort of a random array of furniture in front of the small bar, barrels for tables outside, that kind of thing, mellow and relaxed and rather unpretentious for whats happening here, thats until i get to the prices anyway. they have a ton of beers on, lots of barrel aged stuff, sours and wilds, even some hoppy offerings, and its quite apparent from the beer list that these guys are doing it all. the service was sort of cocky at first but warmed up a little bit, almost nobody around on a sunday afternoon, they gave us a bunch of free tasters, and we had only a few beers, but all that we tasted were unique, even weirdly so, and very high quality, i cant believe there isnt more chatter about the beers coming out of this place, we were both really impressed. the prices were insane though, some small pours were ten bucks or more, and for how little we drank by volume, our tab felt astronomical, which may account for the lack of patrons on a weekend day, but who knows. you often get what you pay for with beer, and i felt like the beer was great here, but the prices were so high that i did not feel good about paying out tab. still, awesome beers and an awfully relaxed place to hang out. worth checking out, a little out of the way from where we were, but worth the extra driving if you seek strange beers. just bring the pocketbook!

Good selection of beer. Many varieties represented. Standard taproom feel here. Servers are friendly. Only down fall was a sticky floor and no WiFi. A worthy stop in San Jose

Best Brewery in the San Jose area. Nice place to sit outside and enjoy your flight and as your hanging out they kept coming by with tasters of other beers that might not have been on your sampler. Guys were chill and easy to talk with. Will hit this place again for sure.

Warehouse taproom with tables & barrels. Usually have 10 beers on tap with a special cask beer from time to time. 1-2 of the taps are usually Tied House beers (partner). Prices vary from $5-7 a pour for most beers.

Vibe is pretty lowkey, music coming from the production area that you can see from parts of the taproom. No TVs, you'll have to make conversation or stare at your smartphone. Minimal decor/decoration.

Quality is generally good, I've only had one beer of theirs I didn't like. Never had an issue with a beer pouring badly either.

Service is solid here. Joel is the taproom manager and he's awesome, if you wanna know what's pouring well or an opinion on what to get, he's a good guy to ask. Generally very good about letting you taste beers before you buy if its something new/unusual.

Selection is usually heavy on the pales/IPAs. They're noted for their single hop IPA beers, so there's usually a few of those on tap as well as their pale and double IPA. You'll also get their scotch ale, imperial stout and then 1-3 beers of miscellaneous styles.

Overall a very chill place to hang out and grab some brews. Beer is good & staff is friendly.
