Atmosphere- This hip bar/restaurant has the cozy feel of a good neighborhood tavern and the edginess of a skater bar. A good range of seating options- high tops, low tops and the bar. The crowd seems to be diverse- some people are there for the beer, some for the pizza, some for both.

Quality- Definitely good quality exhibited throughout the operation. You won't necessarily get your beer in appropriate glassware, but it will be good beer from clean tap lines nonetheless.

Service- Good service. Friendly staff adorned with the occasional facial piercing or tattoo. The responsive waitstaff have made for good hosts/hostesses in my experiences.

Selection- An above-average selection of beer on draft and in bottle. A healthy range of high-quality American, Belgian, English and German beers are available to please a range of tastes.

Food- The pizza in general is very good. But what really gets me are the creative topping options they have put together at Johnny Rad's... these make for uniquely delicious pizzas. I would be a repeat customer here even if it didn't have beer available!

The newest edition to Upper Fells Point this neighborhood bar is a much needed oasis of better food and better beer in a desert of dive bars. Atmosphere reminds me of some of the punk rock style bars in the Brighton / Alston areas of Boston. It's a blend of rock-a-billy, skater, cafe racer, and locals. So far I have tried all the beer taps and the draft system seems on par. Fresh and clean. The service at the bar has been nothing but perfect. Selection is a tricky thing to judge. Having only 5 taps limits your options, but when 4 of the 5 taps are craft beer you can see where the bar mangers head is at. The bottle selection is more extensive with about 25 choices. The choices are a mix of micro and macro. Notables are Oskar blues, allagash, and other Belgians. Food is excellent as well. The pizzas are of the craft style not fast food style. Thick crust (not Chicago style), not thin, quality ingredients. UPDATE: Words from the pizza artist: "the cornice or outer edge crust is thicker and airy like traditional italian pizza. but the main part of the pie is very thin, like credit card thin, 2-3mm at most". Sandwiches as well, and some interesting looking apps, hush puppies and mac n' cheese. Oh and salads as well. Also a crowd favorite is the happy hours. It's off to a good start with rumors of more local brews to be offered. Lots of potential for this place. Good luck!
