Probably would of drove by this place if i didnt have everyone in my car looking for it. A little orange, yellow, and red brick building. Walk in inside and WOW, I felt like a kid in a candy store. Beer everywhere, and plenty of it. Some in coolers, vast majority on shelfs. Lighting was dim, and no one beyond the front door could sun get in, so that was nice. And of course, you can break six packs!!
Q- little light could get to the bottles, and the place is kept quite cool. So bottles did have dust on them, but not anything that would cause an allegric reaction. One complaint (which would really be to customers not the store) is that several times i pulled a beer out of a six pack only to find it wasnt the right one.
S- no complaints about the service. A couple youngers guys who were very helpful and knowledgable, and best of all laid back. They even set aside counter space for me when the two people i came with and myself couldnt hold anymore while i was still looking.
I was very happy to find out that you get a discount if you buy a case.
S- selection was the best i had ever seen. I dont know how i might it out of there without going broke and maxing out the credit cards. Brewery ommegang, stone, great divide, SN, SA, boulder beer, three breweries from new mexico, jolly pumpkin, boulder beer, anderson valley, avery, left hand, dogfish head, mad river, nimbus, four peaks, allagash, ska, north coast, lost coast, tons of imports, speakeasy, anchor, reaper, green flash, Alesmith, ballast point, i could literally think about this all day and not be able to name them all.
V- discount with a case, and the most expensive regular i had was probably $1.99. I will be back, cant wait either.

I was taken here on the recommendation of friends when I asked about a good beer store. I was pretty skeptical when we drove up (looks like a dump), but was encouraged by the empty Great Divide boxes littering the entranceway (like I said, it's a dump).
Fantastic selection. Aisles are cramped, some dust on the bottles, but they had most everything I was looking for. Section of Eastern European beers near the front, tons of micros and Belgians in the back. They allow pulling singles out of the sixers as well.
Picked up Sam Smith Winter Warmer, Alaskan Smoked Porter, some Rochefort 10, Traquair House Ale, Racer 5, Hop Rod Rye, and Shakespeare Stout.

Was really looking forward to hitting this store while visiting Arizona. Didn't really know what to expect, but I did have some pretty high expectations after reading the reviews. Well, it didn't disappoint! Kind of a seedy looking store as we pulled into the parking lot. Has a drive through window on the side. Walked in to find a very cluttered, dark and somewhat dingy store. Not really dirty, but kinda unorganized and just a bit creepy looking. Anyway, we walked over to the beer section and I was very impressed. A whole long row of assorted micros, another row of beers from the far east, mexico and other european countries. A really nice corner that has a large selection of belgian brews and bombers of assorted micros. A very large center island with a german brews and another seperate room with beers from Eastern Europe and Russia. Very large assortment of every type of beer. The prices are pretty reasonable. Some are high and they have some good deals as well. They let you buy singles and mix six packs for a decent deal as well. I think I walked out of there spending about $50 or so on some beers that I wasn't able to find in the bay area (two varieties of Fantome and a couple of Avery brews). I didn't ask for any help, but they also didn't really seam to be interested if I even wanted help. When I got to the counter though, the lady was very friendly and we chatted about beer for a few minutes. Overall, probably the third best selection place I have been to besides John's Marketplace in Portland and Bottleworks in Seattle. Definitely will head back there when I visit again next month.

You wouldn't know it from looking at this place from the outside, especially with its drive-thru, but they have the most massive selection of good beer I've ever laid my eyes on. Aisles and aisles of just about any beer you can get in Arizona. Most isn't refrigerated, but they seem to take good care of it regardless. There's even a tasting room downstairs. The very nice people who are in charge of this store even hold beer events from time to time, most recently a very special one that I was lucky enough to be able to attend, a tasting event featuring Stone's 3rd through 7th Anniversary beers and Stone brewmaster Steve Wagner himself. Even if it's out of your way like it is for me, I'd suggest making a trip out to this store and seeing what they have for yourself. You'll definitely be impressed.

My personal favorite of the two "sister or brother" combination of Sun Devil and Top's Liquor Stores.
I found out about these two great "Beer Palaces" so many years ago when I became a charter member of Michael Jackson's Beer Club, they are the distributors or at least the delivery arm.
Magnificent selection of beer! what kind and how do you want it? Cold, Single, Sixer, case, Truckload, "they got it baby", a bazillion local and domestic microbrews, a zillion imports, and a truly exceptional staff that have as much knowledge about "beer" as any group I know. Also they have samplings or tastings if you prefer from time to time, which I must certainly attend one of these day's, but it's even more remote from me than Top's, but I did have a large order delivered to me, and was given an excellent discount, can't beat that kind of service with a stick.
As with tops, a great selection of wine and spirits and most anything you need to "Party Down"!
So if you are a lover of "Beer", and you are in Arizona, this place is a "MUST" stop on your beer quest.

This place kick ass! The owners and employees of this joint are very helpful and knowledgeable as well. A huge selection of beers are available, most impressive foreign beer section and a good selection of beers in the chilled area as well. Kudos to Sun Devil.
