Notes:
Zelicious single-hop showcase using the Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand. Delightfully confusing aromas of citrus and mandarin oranges give way to an incredibly complex body of earth tones and marigolds. This is truly unlike any hop you’ve ever tasted.

Poured from a growler into a tasting glass.
A: Very hazy, pale golden color with no foam head. Light lacing remains on the glass.
S: Funky overripe tropical fruit is powerful to the point of being overwhelming.
T: Begins barely off-dry, with pungent tropical fruit hop aromatics that dwarf all other qualities. Fruit takes on a more dry and vinous quality in the middle, using the citric acidity to its advantage. Malt is feather-light but slightly aromatic, appearing just briefly and intermittently during the second act. Bitterness is moderate with fruity hop flavors well integrated throughout.
M: Thin viscosity, wet and slightly acidic on the palate, with moderate carbonation.
D/O: Spectacularly dry-hopped, this beer does one thing and does it well. It is extreme in its presentation of Nelson Sauvin hops, compared to Alpine's Nelson rye IPA. The smell seems bold but simplistic, while the same single-pronged assault of hops upon the palate is much more enjoyable. It does not fatigue the palate, although that quality would depend heavily on whether the drinker had yet acquired a taste for such intensity of hop flavors.

growler poured into a duvel glass
look is a pale amber yellow. smell is herbal and floral, taste follows with tangy pine and citrus as well. there's a good amount of sweet toasty malt in the finish. medium carbonation is medium, feel is a light medium with no cloying syrup feel.

A: very cloudy yellow. Pastel yellow. Forms a a moderately large foamy white head. Very minimal lacing.
S: incredibly juicy. Lots of citrus, orange, mandarin, candied citrus peel.
T: taste is similar, but a bit less complex than the aroma. Slightly bready. Orange, citrus, and tangerine. Not quite as juicy. There is a slight astringency on the finish.
M: lighter bodied. Mild bitterness
O: A nice IPA. Would be very nice over the summer.
