Our flagship beer was named after our founder’s grandmother and crafted to please her purely classic tastes. Mildly hopped, light in color and body, and clean to the taste, this california common-style lager drinks easy. Each sip charms the senses with distinct flavor and refreshing simplicity, delivering a smooth finish. Dorothy is truly the “Classic Beauty.”

From the bottom of the can: PKG07/31/23 07:38:22"
This beer was being refrigerated when purchased.

Appearance: It has a medium lemon colored body which is very hazy. There is a lot of visible carbonation when pouring which initially leads to what looks like a head but it rapidly fizzles out before the beer can even finish pouring. There is no lacing. It is a rather unimpressive looking beer.

Aroma: At first there was no perceivable aroma, but then a very light touch of hop character appeared just as the nose got near the surface of the beer.

Taste: Up front there is a light fruity flavor which has a bit of berry character mixed with some lime. It has a very light touch of rosemary bread flavor in the middle of the palate. It is very faint but present. A medium strength bitter herb flavor towards the back of the mouth. A light bit of skunk character comes through both on the palate and retronasally towards the end of the sip.

Mouthfeel: It is light bodied and trends a bit towards the upper edge of light, nearing medium-light. Carbonation feels fine. Bitterness is medium and consists of a bitter herb-like hop character.

Overall: The can states that this is an "UNFILTERED BEER; SEDIMENT IS NORMAL" which makes sense given that it is very hazy but the overall appearance of the beer isn't very good. The aroma is almost non-existent which also detracts from the beer. Aside from this the beer feels pretty average and it isn't something I would buy again or recommend.

From Beer Drop, canned July 5th 2023.

It pours a lightly hazed straw yellow with over a finger of foam, lacing is okay.

The smell is hoppy, grainy, a bit grassy, with sweet malt and some corn.

The taste is hoppy, as in grassy but kind of Pilsner like. Notes of grain follow with minimal corn presence. The more I drink, the more I like.

Good lightish mouthfeel, very easy drinking. I got to enjoy this one twice.

Pours a chill hazed gold producing one and a half fingers of short-lived white head which leaves little behind as it recedes in the way of lace or surface cap. Pale for what is normal in this style. Aroma is cereal and sweet pale malt with a lemon hint. Taste is lemon, cereal and sweet malt in a slightly herbal background without the fruitiness I sometimes expect from this style. Finishes light but peppery with a nice hop profile. Mouth feel is medium bodied with medium carbonation; lively pepper on the tongue but still smooth. Overall this is to my pallet a divergent but nice addition to the style. Easy to drink it is good but not great.

Very light body and flavor. Large bubbles give it a feel similar to a sparkling water or prosecco. Lightly herbacious on the nose and very crisp. Overall a solid lager.

This is a light and refreshing beer. It has a nice crisp taste. I had it on a chilly fall day, which isn’t a perfect pairing, but I think this would be really nice on a hot summer day with some fish off the grill.
