On tap at Ol Baren. From notes.
A - Pours a nice hazy golden colour with a two and a half finger white head leaving great lacing or white creaminess down the sides. No visible carbonation. Tons of pillowy head retention. Hard to argue with this.
S - Woah. Nice aroma. Saisony funk with hop glory. Hops dominate but are complimented with that barnyard sor of aroma. Yeast and oak are also present with some grass too. Possibly some carpety sort of note is there too. Depth on this is great. Probably the best smelling saison for me so far.
T - Lemony, grassy, citrusy, hoppy. That funk and yeast combine with great hop citrus and grass to make something lovely to drink. Most of the aroma follows through in the taste too. Great.
M - Mild tingly carbonation with a medium body. Bigger body than expected but it is still refreshing.
D - Big. I like this beer alot. Probably the best saison I have ever had. The great combination of big hop citrus mixes well with the funk and yeast typical of a saison. It definately is a hoppy saision, but one that still lets you know you have a saison in front of you.

Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty beige/orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of rustic malt notes with fruity ester and quite strong notes of paradise grain and light citrus notes. Taste is a complex and intense mix of rustic malt with balanced sweetness level mix in with some fruity ester and light citrus notes with perhaps a touch too much of paradise grain notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well brewed though perhaps a bit too much spice and ester for its own good.

Hand bottle shared at the 2011 RBSG.
Pours a slightly hazy pale golden yellow cor with a 1.5 finger soapy white head that slowly fades into a lasting ring. Nice legs with some spotty lacing.
Slightly earthy aroma with dry, piney hops, pale malt and subtle citrus fruit. Slightly funky with some earthy dry brett and peppery, zesty spice.
Medium bodied with some tight carbonation and lots of spicy, earthy dry hops. Very dry and slightly funky with hints of grass and straw along with subtle light fruit notes. These subtle funky farmhouse notes compliment the earthy piney hops but overall rhis beer is a bit one dimensional with a slight dry finish.
