Knee Deep’s Batch 138 India Pale Ale is brewed with three types of C hops and Simcoe, which gives this West Coast IPA an aroma that resembles a cat that has peed in a pine tree. Batch 138 finishes dry and crisp and is sure to leave you in hop euphoria.

Bottled 4/23/2013 - Consumed 5/15/2013
A - Copper colored, a bit darker than most. Definitely filtered, good activity in the glass and solid head and head retention.
S - Grassy and earthy first, Cat piss without any citrus component to add. If 3.0 is "average" I'm being generous here...
T - Like sipping tree bark without any IPA citrus to add.
M - Very clean, Crisp, and pleasantly bitter, but not overly bitter. If there were any more flavor in this beer, the mouthfeel would be great.
O - I'm SOLD on fresh SIMTRA & Hop Shortage. Knee Deep really knows how to brew top notch Triple IPAs without a doubt. GOD DAMN, after gems like those, I've no clue why they've let this beer out in a bottle to represent their art. I had 5 different home brew IPAs from generous campers at Boonville recently, that just blow this one out of the water. In the realm of today's IPA offerings, I'm assuming that I won't revisit this one.

Growler from Albertsons. Classic IPA, hoppy but allowing the malts to come through. Pours out a deep, clear golden with frothy head. Hoppy, citrus aroma. Taste is hops first, coming on quite strongly, with a nice malt backbone. The hops linger in the aftertaste for a while.

Light and crisp American ipa. Refreshing to have a beer that's does not taste too strong.
