Poured a thin head on a clear straw colored body.
The aroma is a nice grain and honey.
The taste is great. The bitterness builds beginning to end with a touch of sweetness at the end for a nice finish.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
Pretty good.

22 oz. bomber, bottled 4.30.13, drank 5.6.13,
A: Pours amber with a solid somewhat fizzy white head, solid amount of lace.
S: Lots of grapefruit and greenery, pungent.
T: Pine oil with a lot of citrus and pineapple. Very little malt flavour, this is all about the hops as expected.
M: Full-bodied, resiny, thick. Quite easy drinking for the size.
O: A very good DIPA, though the price is a bit off-putting. Worth a try once for hop fans.

Bottled on 4/23/13
Poured into the Sierra Nevada/Dogfish IPA glass.
Appearance: Pours a clear, pale amber/orange with a white 2 finger head that has decent retention and leaves some spotty lacing.
Aroma; Not nearly as aromatic as a I'd expect from a triple IPA.; sweet orange blossoms, resinous pine, some distant notes of grapefruit. There is an overbearingly sweet malt presence that really bogs the nose down. So sweet in fact, that it actually smells akin to malt extract. No alcohol is present in the nose.
Taste: The beer opens with very pine forward hops with a growing grapefruit presence. Some sweet caramel-y malts cut the initial hop nuances a bit short, but the dry finish leaves the bitter hop oils naked on your palate with lingering notes of resinous pine and grapefruit rind. For 11.3% ABV, the alcohol is remarkably masked and the the little that there is coalesces nicely with the strong and assertive hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, very oily in texture with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Not nearly as explosively hoppy in aromatics and in taste as I'd want a Triple/Double IPA to be. The hop notes that do come across are fairly simple and are left dulled by the overbearing malts. The hops do come across a bit more in the finish, but they of a more oily and resinous nature rather than bright and citrusy. For what it's worth it definitely does go down very easily, a bit too easily in fact, for 11%.

Served from 22 oz bomber with bottled on date of 03/15/13, into Duvel tulip.
Appearance: Pours a clear golden, copper color with about a finger and a half of dense white head the recedes to a thin cap after a few minutes.
Smell: Hop resin, and malty sweetness, a touch of citrus, and a faint earthiness.
Taste: A touch of piney, resinous hop bitterness up front, followed by a massive amount of alcohol, that ends with a piney bitter aftertaste. Just a straight up boozy mess, hardly any hop character when compared to the alcohol bite.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a very nice prickly carbonation.
Overall: Just a boozy mess IMO, lacks any real hop punch, after a few drinks all I can taste is the alcohol.

Taste is disappointing. When you advertise a beer as "Will Work for Hops", I expect a strong hoppy finish. A good brew, but did not deliver on its promise. Weak finish with slightly astringic opening. Bitter taste without the deep floral tones that most highly hopped beers exhibit.
