this is a really excellent american beer. something like this, very dry and citrusy... this beer tastes of the arid west, of the heat. pervasive dry heat for many months...

i had three bottles a week ago... i can't find any now... if you can get this get it.

the pour is so clear, so extra pale, but the hop taste is so fresh and perfectly matched to the body of the beer... it's an IPA drinker's pale ale.

can i get this in a 12 pack in cans? i need a fridge stocked with this for the summer.

A+

Poured from bottle into bottom of pint glass.
Aggressive head. Nice clear bronze. Head fades slowly leaving nice lace.
Nose very citric.
Taste overpowers with lemon zest. Very aggressive West Coast citrus up front with a nice malt backbone.
Aftertaste leaves a malty smoothness feel that is very pleasant.
Not at all what I expected peeking at the other reviews. A totally different experience that from others I know and respect.
To each his own. I liked this beer a lot and am very glad I snagged a bottle.

Finger and half of head on a clear, dark straw colored body.
The aroma is light grapefruit and honey. Quite nice.
The taste starts off with mild bitterness moving to moderate bitterness. There’s a sweetness in the background that keeps the profile balanced.
A crisp texture with moderate carbonation and medium body.
It’s a single-hop ale showcasing Citra hops.

Bottled on 3/26/13
Poured into the Dogfish Head/Sierra Nevada IPA Glass.

Appearance: Pours a transparent light orange with yellow highlights. The beer sports an off white, two finger head that sticks around for a while and leaves some nice lacing behind as it recedes.

Aroma: Gotta love those citra hops; huge, vibrant aromas of kiwis, grapefruit, peach, lime juice, a hint green onions and some nice catty simcoe hop-isms. Underlying sweet, bready malts provide some balance to this hugely tropical nose.

Taste: Very tropical hops right away; notes of grapefruit, a little bit of passion fruit and light impressions of kiwi, before a very clean and brisk breadiness dries out the palate. The beer finishes off dry with hints of tropical fruit intermingled with light bread. There is a very assertive, lingering bitterness. I wish the hops were a bit more pungent.

Mouthfeel: A tad thin bodied for its style, I wish it was a little more full bodied. I feel that carbonation is a tad too soft.

Overall: This was a difficult beer for me to review because I could tell if I was drinking a slightly hoppy Pale Ale or a watered down IPA. It's marketed as a pale ale, yet it is 7% ABV, which by definition would make it an IPA. I feel like the aroma on the beer is amazing, but the actual flavor of the hops don't come through enough. Its a decent take on a glorified Zombie Dust clone, but overall it just doesn't make the cut.
