Draft to Hefeweizen
16oz
@Brendans Irish Pub, Orleans Hotel, Las Vegas
App- Brendans is a very dark bar. When I removed the beer from said bar I said, "This is way of for a hefeweizen" Too orange, too clear. Nice head though. Some speckled cling.
Smell- Really was nothing in the nose. It had no bubblegum, no pepper, no spice, no banana. Just a bit of malty lemon.
Taste- I couldn't finish my glass. It was very bland and off putting. I tried to keep going to see if better as warmed, was a bit worse. Missing key flavors of the Hefe style.
Mouth- A soft body with a damp medium carbonation. No last residual flavors.
Drink- Not even sure I would call it a hef.

Served on tap at The Pub in the Monte Carlo.
It's a typical hefe appearance... hazy with a light white head.
The smell is faint, but mostly lemon.
The taste is even more faint... not an abundance of flavor in this one.
It's easy to drink, but that's about the only thing going for this one.

From the tap, the beer was a cloudy yellow/golden color with a tad of foam. The aroma is very faint with some hints of a hefeweizen-like notes.
The palate is barely chewy, definitely not up to par with the style. The wheat upfront leads to an absence of spice in the finish. There really isn't much to be said here. More development of flavor would be appreciated. On the other hand, it was quite drinkable.

Pours a cloudy yellow-tan mix with lots of carbonation and sediment. Big white head and decent lacing. Flat, wheaty aroma. Not a lot of clove or yeast. Bitter grain/wheat flavors dominate. Some lemony citrus flavors, some occasional spice and sweetness. Nothing spectacular. Easy to drink, but doesn't really make you crave another.

Sample at the brewpub. Served with a lemon, this beer is a cloudy yellow color with a medium thin and fluffy white head that diminishes slowly. Small patches of lacing. Light yeast, fruit and wheat in the nose. Light, clean body with wheat, fruit and mild spice flavors. The finish is wheaty with a lightly spiced aftertaste. Pretty standard overall.

Slightly cloudy light yellow pour. Honey smell and musty wheat. Very light nose and none of the traditional hefeweizen clove notes, I guess b/c now I see it is not a german hefeweizen. Either way, it is lightly flavored like everything at Tenaya creek and while drinkable, very boring, and bland. Nothing exciting.

Consumed on draft at brewery, 12/30/07.
Cloudy (unfiltered), medium yellow. Nice head. No aroma to speak of.
American style, as in no clove or banana taste flavor components. Primarily a watery wheat flavor. At the very end, a bashful hint of spice. Not much flavor other than what the wheat adds.
Not inspiring.

somewhat hazy light yellow. small white head, but it did leave a nice lacing. smell was totally weak, is this a hefe or a cheap lager? taste follows suite, light fruity notes, but thats about it really. watered down, overly simple...unimpresive. this beer was sorry and i am not hyped on it.

Beer arrived with a lemon floating in it, which I do not prefer. Pulled out the lemon. The beer was a slightly hazy yellow color with a medium sized head. The aroma was somewhat lacking for this style, as only some malt was detected.
The flavor was bland, as wheat level was much lower than expected. Some bitterness and citrus (that damn lemon) were prevelant but didn't liven up the beer. The malt and citrus lasted a short bit on the tongue after swallowing. This is not one on Tenaya Creeks better brews.

This unfiltered hefeweizen poured a cloudy yellow (light golden) color with white foam. The smell was weak but there was a faint aroma of banana. The taste was weak, with very little fruit, and mostly hops with some yeast flavor in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel was smooth, and the body was medium, but the flavor was thin. The drinkability was OK, but they serve it with a lemon which masks what little flavor there is in this ale.
