Notes:
Meet Red Ryder - a deep cherry red that captures your gaze and holds it for ransom. Her motive is simple: Give you what you want. She is quick to disarm you with a hint of caramel, covered by Magnum hops. As she takes you to the floor, a spicy peppery rich twang slides over you like silk sheets. When the smoke clears and the windows open, Centennial hops fill the room with a clean, flowery citrus aroma. Stockholm syndrom never tasted so good.

On tap at Congregation Ale House in Pasadena, CA.
Pours a clear copper with a foamy tan head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with malt and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that smells much better than it tastes in my opinion.

Handsome coppery color with some foam but a little more would have been better. No lacing at all in the Duvel tulip. Adequate carbonation in the mouth. The nose is that funny gummy, cardboardy, wood chips smell, but as it warms the aromas are more resiny and floral.
Malty and rather sweet to start. This is the earthy and herbaceous style of hoppy Red Ale. Brewer says the flavor is Magnum hops. A little acidic in the aftertaste. Tastes good when you're thirsty, but it's not something I would try again. The best examples of this style to me are clean and crisp but this is more on the murky side. Plenty of bitterness along with some herbs and fruit. From the 22 oz bottle bought at AJ's Fine Foods in Chandler.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Look – dark brown in color, with about half a finger’s worth of khaki-colored foam that dissipates somewhat quickly.
Smell – creamy and hoppy aroma. Interesting smell, hard to pin down.
Taste – smoky, tinted with a hint of muskiness that lingers into a bite from the hops in the finish.
Mouthfeel – pretty well-balanced, but lingers on the smooth creamy side.
Overall – interesting brew overall, good-tasting and fun to think about.

Chilled 22 oz. bomber into a shaker pint. No visible bottling date.
Look- Beautiful ruby-deep amber hue, two and a half finger toasted marshmallow head that clings to the glass as it falls. Splotchy lacing.
Smell- Musky hops, caramel, raisin, spicy, light sweetness. Fairly subdued, but pleasant.
Taste- Spicy. Rye is certainly a strong player, along with peppery hops and a hint of oxidization. Vanilla and cola, grassy bit in the middle. Finishes with mineral water and toasted rye bread. Mild lingering caramel and lemony bitterness. Decent, but could be sprightlier. As it warms, it takes on an interesting warm cinnamon-raisin bread character that's actually quite excellent. Makes me regret finishing the other half of the glass while it was still cold.
Mouthfeel- Medium body, moderate carbonation, fairly sharp feel that softens as it sits out. Crisp, finishes dry with significant mineral character.
Overall- Pretty good, but definitely let it warm up first/serve it at room temperature. I enjoyed it quite a bit after it had an hour or so to sit out, taking the edge off of the sharp carbonation and bringing out a mouth-watering toasted caramel flavor that works well with the rye and light bitterness. A temperature recommendation on the bottle would be well-suited. Recommended.

Pours a beautiful copper red with fine carbonation, nice head. The nose is a perfectly balanced combination of sweet, round malt notes and a little citrusy/piney hop tang in the background. The taste is everything the nose promises and more. It practically melts in your mouth, if a beer can do such a thing. It has great body, abundant flavor and is just so well balanced.

A- Vibrant copper with a reddish-brown hue. Fluffy off-white head that dissipates to a frothy covering, leaving sheets of lacing down the glass.
N- Rich caramel malt with a hint of oxidation, bread, earthy hops reminiscent of wet leaves, and a light spiciness.
T- Nice big malty backbone with notes of fresh bread, toasted nuts, and subtle caramel. The rye lends a light spiciness that adds some complexity. Moderate grassy bitterness with grapefruit rind underneath. The hops also have a subtle herbal tea quality to them, with some floral overtones and wisps of refreshing citrus. The beer dries out for a long finish with toasted grain, grassy bitterness, lightly spicy rye, and lingering dry caramel.
M- Medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, and a dry finish.
D- Overall, a solid beer that I could see myself drinking on a regular basis if it were available where I live. I'm a sucker for rye and hops, and this definitely hits that spot. I'd love to see Tenaya do a rye IPA along these lines.

22oz bottle into SN imperial pint. Thanks to Rizalini for this one.
A: Pours a slightly cloudy burnt orange with two fingers of greasy light khaki head that faded into an oily film leaving a sticky sheet of lacing down the glass.
S: Notes of toffee, toasted grains, sweet caramel, butterscotch, and a bit of dried citrus rind. Not bad.
T: Toffee, burnt caramel, brown sugar, bitter citrus rind, and roasted nuts. The rye adds a nice spiciness to the finish, and the aftertaste is earthy, peppery and lightly bitter.
M: Frothy carbonation bubbles up in my mouth over the medium body. The mouthfeel is light and slick but falls off a tad in the finish.
O: This is one spicy beer. Really love the rye flavors in this one, but overall it’s an above average amber ale. Thanks again, Bryin.

Bottle to Large Pils
22oz
App- Its a mix of red and brown with a two finger head. Big lines of stick and lace. A bit of highlights in the glass.
Smell- On the nose I feel it smells like it should but thats about it. Its rich with malts and hops and some other mixed in flavors.
Taste- Right down the middle amber with some extra flavors. Its okay but just kicked up a bit.
Mouth- its medium and medium. A little spicy and malty.
Drink- label drew me in and the beer let me down a bit. Its thick, malty, rye and okay. I probably wont come back to this.

Poured from a bomber into my Deschutes tulip...
A - Pours a very clear amber-cherry color, with a foamy 1 1/2 finger off-white head, leaving some great lacing when it fades.
S - Smells of carmel and hops flood my nose.
T - Dry floraly hops, some burnt sugars, and a pleasant roastiness that I can't put my finger on.
M - Medium mouthfeel, perfect amount of carbonation. Goes down very smooth.
O - This is a really good red, but it's missing the warming feeling I look for in my reds. But being that this one's only 6.2% I understand.
