This beer is now called Franklin BBQ Smoked Porter.

The beer pours a dark amber-brown color with an off-white head. The aroma is heavy on the smoke, with a hint of roasted malt. The flavor is also very heavy on the smoke, with some malt sweetness, a hint of roasted malt and a bit of chocolate. Still, the smoke is what really shines in this beer. Thin to medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice smoked beer, glad I got to try it.

Brewed with malt smoked at the Franklin BBQ this brew pours a dark caramel-ruby cola color with thin lacing and fat, loose bubbles. There’s a big upfront smoked malt aroma, even from first sniff you know this is going to be smokey. Taste is more of the same, with an assertive smoke flavor upfront that’s immediate, dominant and long-lasting but develops into a mellow, almost sweet still smoky finish. I really enjoyed this one.
