Tap @ Old Chicago Old Town Foco. Dark orange-brown appearance with an off white head. Quite toasty, caramel malty, mild nutty, light mild hoppy nose. Really a delicious toasty, caramel flavor with some of the nutty, bitter elements more on the finish. Well balanced and the beer is very malty, yet not too sweet. Very drinkable, delicious beer.

This is a superb Munich dunkel. The color is light mahogany color with light carbonation. The aroma is lightly sweet with hints of dark caramel.. Medium full mouthfeel. The flavor is richly caramel and a light nuttiness. Very well balanced and sessionable. Possibly my favorite of the style.

Well, love the artwork on these bottles. Let's see what the insides have for me...

Pours a dark chestnut brown, but not bordering on dark brown or black. You can tell it's brown. Nice off white head, some soapiness but nice looking beer.

Sweet aroma of caramel and malt. Perhaps hints of dark cherry and baked, non-glazed donut. Hints of spice and hops

A blend of roasted malt and sweet caramel on the flavor. Take that donut and dunk it into a brown tea. Has some tannin, but still bready and sweet. Not as rich or sweet as some German dunkels, but the flavor is quite nice. A quick zip of Noble hops on end rounds this beer nicely

One of the better dunkels around the Denver region

Pours an amber with a deep mahogeny hue to it. Off white head that quickly recedes. A nice bready aroma with some brown sugar,hazelnut, a hint of some chocolate, and a hint of some lager yeast. Flavor follows suit while also offering a roasty finish. A medium bodied mouftheel with some creaminess that is cut by some prickly carbonation that I am not quite a fan of. Overall, this is my intro to he style and I definitely enjoyed it. Something to come back to for sure.

Pours a clear dark amber, brown with a small tan head that lingers.

Smells of sweet malt with just a touch of lager yeast and floral hop. The caramel malt flavor really dominates.

Taste is slightly roasty, caramel up front that goes into a bready, sweet middle before ending on a smooth and pleasant caramel malt flavor. A hint of diacetyl lingers. Really smooth.

Lighter to medium body with medium to low carbonation. No alcohol notes.

This is a nice Dunkel that is sweet with notes of caramel. I will get this one again.

Had this a couple times here at there at festivals, but this is my first go-round with a bottle on a clear palate.
It's probably worth mentioning that dunkel is one of my favorite styles and I'm judging this based upon that for better or worse.
Pours a deep mahogany brown. Head isn't too heavy, but isn't going anywhere either.
Bready and malty on the nose, with just a little bit of chocolate and hops bitterness in the end.
Sweet up-front followed by dark breads, hazelnut and cocoa. A kiss of maraschino cherry and brandy in the finish. Honestly, quite good! One of the better American versions I've had...maybe even the best?
Reminds me a lot of the version from Ayinger, which is quite the compliment. I want more already as this bomber very easily could've just been just for me (I split it).
A phenomenal take that really has no major issues at all, sans maybe a kiss of heat in the finish. Top notch by any standard.

1 pt 6 fl oz bottle served in a snifter, reviewed live:

A- Pours a deep and fairly dark, transparent amber color, topped with a surprisingly creamy, off-white, 1.5 finger head. Retention is average, though it pretty appealing.

S - Caramel, toasted and pale malts, bread, and light spice. It's mild, and a little boring.

T - Some fruit esters that weren't evident in the nose come through. It's a little nutty, and the toasted malt foundation, cream and sweet candy are counted by light hopping. It's simple, but very well balanced. I like it quite a bit.

M - Medium bodied, smooth, and oddly, a bit creamy. It works pretty well with the flavors, though.

D - My first brew from Grimm Brother, and I'm impressed. It's nothing special, but I'll try more, especially on tap.

Poured from 22oz Bottle into a Bruery tulip

A: Pours a deep copper with very minimal head that disappears almost immediately.

S: Sweet malt and caramel dominant with toasted and nutty notes in the back. Some nice hops are evident as well

T: Very sweet and smooth. Caramel, sweet malt, nuttiness...everything that was present on the nose comes through nicely here

M: Lower carbonation makes this one an easy drinker. Almost silky smooth

O: If this came in 6-packs it would be in my fridge constantly. Here is to hoping that every Grimm Bros beer is as good as my firs couple!

Nose is chocolate and bready notes, pours a dark crystal clear. Tastes much smoother and lighter than you would expect. Very clean and crisp. Great dark lager. finish is very pleasant and a great gateway beer to those wanting to experiment with darker beers that don't have to be chewed.
