Served on tap into a snifter

A- Poured an intensely viscos black with a ring of off white head.

S- Tons of alcohol on the nose. Whiskey, vanilla, chocolate, and espresso. Lots of coffee bitterness and alcohol in the aroma. Very strong

T- Big alcohol and whiskey taste especially the cooler the beer was. Rich coconut, vanilla, licorice, big bitter black coffee, and chocolate notes. Still a big alcohol presence but the more this warmed up the more the other flavors shined very very nicely

M- Thick and full bodied, finished bone dry, lots of alcohol warming and some burn. Incredibly smooth the more this beer warmed up. 14%? I would never believe the ABV was that high, very drinkable

O- One of the very best imperial stouts I have had. Tons of coffee bitterness and complex flavors in this stout.

On tap at 16 tons. Finally tracked this damn thing down.

A: Black metal with a very thin whisp of mocha head. Great staining legs.

N: A lot of thick fudge, chocolate, and a well blended espresso mix. Some lactose and caramel. There’s some leather and tobacco, which is faint, and black licorice. Some raisin, dark cherry and raspberry.

T: Smooth dark chocolate and coffee bitterness mixed with a non cloying sugary nature.

M: Slick and oily. Very heavy. Alcohol isn’t as potent as percent would suggest, though it is there.

O: A really solid beer that balances the hoppiness and malt with aplomb. I’m a Boneyard homer and I’m not ashamed.

Thanks, Dyan!

Black, as you'd expect. Alcohol is well hidden, especially for the ABV. Big roasted and dark chocolate notes with anise and molasses. A bit of grape and plum. Touch of brown sugar. Bittersweet dark chocolate flavor with roast and molasses. Aggressive but still manageable. The alcohol is pretty well hidden. Big and brash. Not something I'd care to drink again but definitely good for the style. This sort of beer needs to be tamed in a bourbon barrel.

Serving type: growler

Had on tap at Brouwer's during Big Wood. Review from notes.

A: Suge Knight was a nice black color with one finger of tan colored head. Nice retention, rather bubbly on top, with plenty of lacing.

S: Nice roasty malt with some chocolate and coffee. Hints of vanilla too. Rather sweet with a little faint alcohol.

T: Deep flavors of milk and dark chocolate, some faint coffee and roasted malt. A bit of caramel and toffee, slight smoke presence as well.

M: Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Drinks rather smooth, the 14% shows through just a bit, to let you know its there.

O: A really nice IS, Boneyard can obviously make a solid non-hoppy beer.
