This beer is retired; no longer brewed.
Some pimps walk. Some pimps strut. Some pimps run from the law. This pimp, a blend of Pimp and Knob Creek bourbon barrel aged Blaecorn Unidragon, rides between giant wings as they flap through a fiery night sky.

22oz bottle poured into CCB snifter. Blend of Bourbon BA Blaecorn Unidragon and Pimp. Consumed back to back with Pimp. Awesome Artwork, one of my favorite bottle labels.
A- Pours an opaque dark black, pretty much no head, fairly light carbonation. Definitely darker then Pimp without the head and less carbonation- definitely has a little bit more of the characteristics of the Blaecorn.
S- Similar to the Pimp. First recognized the characteristics of the Pimp- smells of coffee, nuts, roasted malts, etc.. The smell of the Unidragon comes out as well- chocolate, more roasted malts, etc.. Both beers come out equally providing a little bit more chocolate and roasted presence then the regular Pimp.
T- Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, nuts, lightly sweet a little bit rich and very complex.
M- The Blaecorn definitely made this beer a little bit sweeter and thicker, but it wasn't too thick. In my opinion it was almost perfect- not too syrupy, but not too light. The Blaecorn definitely took away a little bit of the carbonation which I didn't mind. The beer was well balanced, went down smoothly, no alcoholic burn, and felt great for a beer of 10% abv.
O- This was a great blend of two great beers. I felt like the Blaecorn added a whole additional presence of complexity to the Pimp. You could easily distinguish characteristics from each beer, but yet the two flavors blended very well. The only thing that I was hoping a little bit more for was a stronger bourbon presence- although being a blended beer this isn't all that surprising. I would love to try a BA Blaecorn by itself to compare. Overall this beer was an interesting and tasty try, I recommend picking some up while you still can.

Bottle from Binny's a while back. Served in a Hair of the Dog tulip.
A - Finger of dark tan foam settles to a thin cap, thicker collar, and a few specks of lace. Very dark brown body that is verging on black.
S - Surprisingly stout-forward in flavor. I was expecting more brown ale, as I figured the blend ratio was similar to Angry Beast, but this has a heft dose of char, vanilla, roast, and light oak. Overt bourbon flavor is somewhat muted, and there are brown ale flavors present in the periphery: nuts, milk chocolate, berries, and mildly fruit yeast.
T - The taste has a bit more balance between the blend components, with a mix of nuts, roasted malts, oak, light bourbon, and char in the finish. There's some of the overly burnt character of Blaecorn Unidragon for which I don't really care. Again, verging towards stout more than brown ale. Alcohol is quite well-hidden, which is a plus.
M - Moderate carbonation, medium-full body, sticky and chewy texture, and minimal alcohol warmth. Not a ton of oak or dryness here.
D - Solid, but not as good as Clown Shoes' other barrel-aged offerings. Chris and I had no problem putting down the 22oz bottle, but I'd buy Angry Beast or Porcine Unidragon over this one.

From Winooski's in August trip. Dark brown with big lace, with a mocha head. Chocolate, Cinnamon heat, even chile, roasty, hoppy. Coco. Good drinkability, softer than many bitter imperial stouts, they call it such on the bottle, it can pass as an IS.

Flight of the Pimp pours a dark brown with a massive, rocky light tan head on top. The foam dissolves slowly leaving behind a nice coating of lace on the glass.
The aroma is soft with notes of chocolate, pistachios, a touch of roast malt and a hint of smoke.
Each sip of this medium to full bodied beer is smooth, slightly oily, with soft carbonation. The flavor is rich with notes of chocolate, roast malt, coffee, and nuts. Towards the end some grassy hops and dark fruit flavors appear. It finishes mildly bitter with lingering chocolate flavors.
For 10% abv this is an easy drinking beer. The flavors really come out as the beer warms.

Beer is brown and clear, dark brown, with a tan head of small bubbles, no lacing.
Aroma is mildly roasty, sweet, has this odd aroma as well, weird finish.
Beer is medium in body, sweet up front, bitter in the back, with a graininess on the end mixed with the roast, minimal hoppiness. I didn't really like it, not a repeat.

Preparing for the impending doom of the storm, with a big bourbon barrel aged strong ale. This should be good...
Pours a slightly darker mocha colored 1/2 finger fluffy head that fades at a med pace with thick bubbly lacing, decent head for the abv, over just about pitch black beer with a hint of murky light sneaking through the edge.
Nose starts with dark chocolate, mocha, just a hint of milk chocolate as well, just a hint of roast, some caramel and toasty brown malts, little syrupy sweet malt, lots of dark malts, a big bitter dark chocolate like aroma. Just a bit of a barrel aroma, touch of bourbon barely, but a nice vanilla like oak rounding, and a strange nutty quality to it.
Taste starts with lush chocolate, cocoa powder, super dark bitter chocolate, and some roasted malt, the roasted malt is a bit more on the taste than the aroma was, lots of powdered cocoa, light acrid burnt coffee roast and little metallic twing. The roast gets a little overbearing. There is just a hint of bourbon but barely, with a light vanilla oak rounding, again just a touch of barrel additions. Then the brown ale kicks in, some caramel, little toffee, some nutty toasty brown malt flavors. There is a light creamy dark oatmeal like flavor too. The smooth chocolate and cocoa seem to take over though. there is a light warming booze, and bit of bitterness from the roast and a light earthy spicy bitterness. Finish is drier but sticky, light bitter roasted malt, a big roasty flavor, light acrid, more cocoa and dark chocolate, and a bit of caramel.
Mouth is fuller bodied, fairly rich and a bit creamy, some warming booze, decent carb.
Overall not bad, not quite as good as I expected, more like imperial stout with lots of roast and chocolate malt, barely any barrel, and the brown ale seems buried mostly. However, the more I drink the more the chocolate and creamy flavors seem to come out.

A: Very dark brown in color and even a bit translucent in the glass. Forms a smallish deep tan colored head that settles fairly quickly to a thin surface coating and a moderate sized ring around the edge. Light lacing.
S: Alcohol and boozy bourbon are the dominant aromas, with light notes of vanilla, chocolate, and brownie in the mix.
T: Taste starts off with a smooth chocolate-bourbon quality. The bourbon is quite restrained, but still noticeable - a characteristic that I actually like. Then a moderate sweetness of brown sugar and molasses with a bit of fig to round things out. Mild alcohol on the finish.
M: Starts off smooth, almost velvety, with an easy carbonation and a mild char-like bitterness. However, the finish is thin.
O: This turned out to be a better beer than I was expecting. I like the fact it has some bourbon characteristics, but its not a bourbon bomb. Rather the bourbon is subtle, adding depth to the beer and making for a more drinkable beer.
