Poured from a 22-oz. bottle into a weisen glass. I was pretty happy with the smell and nice white head, it was a bit downhill from there. I found the maltiness mild, but nice. The real disappointment came from the hops, or lack thereof. I expect more from an IPA. Nonetheless, there was a good bit of citrus and a slight floral finish. Overall, a decent beer, but nothing to brag about. Based on color, taste, and smell, it was kinda like a hoppier version of Blue Moon.

Bottled on date hard to read but I think it says 3/6/13.

Appearance: Golden orange and hazy to the point of being opaque. One finger frothy off-white head.

Aroma: Not much there besides a touch of biscuit and some sweet tangerine.

Taste: Quite watery at first sip. At 5.5% ABV I wasn't expecting a super robust IPA but this is a tad underwhelming. Starts with a moderate bitterness that continues throughout. However, there isn't any hop flavor which I was looking forward to given the description on the bottle. The malt flavor comes in about halfway through and contributes a sort of freshly baked bread/yeasty taste. Overall the flavor is like a wet blanket on the palate (figuratively).

Mouthfeel: Just under medium in body and barely carbonated. Easily drinkable but not a vibrant enough mouthfeel to be enjoyable.

Final Thoughts: There were no off-flavors or anything to suggest a bad bottle, but Miracle didn't deliver the flavor I expected. The bland nature of the beer is it's downfall. Would I drink it again? Unlikely.

Appearance: Hazy orange with brownish amber hues. Some slow carbonation. Patchy off-white head with a defined rim. A little lace

Aroma: Lots of toasted bready malts. Definite caramel aroma with a little toffee. Citrus and slightly earthy hops with some floral notes

Taste: Sweet apples and pear start things off followed by juicy grapefruit and lemon bitterness. There's a strong malt backbone of caramel and biscuits. The finish is somewhat dry with oily pine notes

Mouthfeel: Crisp and carbonated but smooth. Refreshing. Light to medium bodied

Overall: A really nice IPA for someone who isn't looking for a hop bomb. Sweet with a respectable hop profile. Approachable. This isn't Clown Shoes' best but solid nonetheless

This beer looks great. The nose is nice too. Tastes pretty good with a thick hop presence that leans towards the east coast style side. Pine is quite prevalent. Resin is there also. Smooth and rounded flavor profile. Feel is pretty nice. As I alluded to, this is very much an east coast kind of ipa. Rustic and earthy and not carrying the vibrance of west coast types. I like this one.

CLOWN SHOES MIRACLE INDIA PALE ALE

"Clown Shoes"? I couldn't say "no" - HAD to try it. This IPA poured very nicely - beautiful amber with a minimal haze - plenty of bubbles to keep a thick stubborn head afloat.

A = Bell ringer, clean amber with nice ivory, velvety cream head.

S = Sharp nose tweaking citrus and cut grass

T = Surprisingly mellow - checked for a bottle date - none. Nice flavor but quite reserved for the IPA style. My wife would like it - as is - but I wonder if it is a little past due.

M = On target; light. crisp and bubbly.

O = A serviceable IPA; redeemable for IPA veterans. I won't say no to another.

Pours a crystal clear medium golden color with a decent white head that persists for a bit before leaving a fair amount of lace on the way down. Smells of earthy citrus hops with a solid bready caramel malt to back it up. Solid sweet sugary malt background never dissipates balancing the earthy citrus a bit too much. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. Not a bad IPA, certainly nothing flawed here, but just a bit boring in today's market.

a good sessionable ipa, with some proceeds to charity. I can get behind that. it pours a crystal clear orange tinted golden color, radiant and attractive, with a little more than an inch of pure white fluff. the nose is the best part, citrusy as anything, not bitter at all, not super resinous, but fresh and clean, lemony. citra hops or similar was used here no doubt. the flavor though doesn't hold up the citrus nearly as well. its overcrowded by some pale malts and a faint sweetness. the hops do finish a little bitter, but its extremely mild. the feel is very light and the carbonation is good, which makes this a pretty nice easy drinking summer time ipa. my biggest critique of this one honestly has nothing to do with the beer itself. why package this in four packs? its a session beer, put it in an eight pack! 10 bucks for four of these is not worth it, but even a sixer would make this a beer worth filling the fridge with for the warmer months. refreshing a little different. I am a fan.

Picked up a single of this at Princeton's eagerly, since most of the Clown Shoes I see in Minnesota has been on the shelf since they first shipped here. 12 oz. bottle dated 3/6/12, so reasonably fresh.

The pour is full frontal IPA, mildly see-through dull orange. Nose chips in citrus, faint sweetness, but there's less than one full nostril to find.

This Miracle is minor enough to be called Everyday Event. Dominated by clean, fresh pale malts that lean into a light sweetness. Malts are timidly floral & the bitterness has a rather limp handshake. Slice of orange. Easy to drink, I suppose, if you're not thinking about it.

Kind of a 'mail-it-in' beer. Not bad, not good, just a decent amount of taste. Defines mediocre, completely forgettable.

A - A bright golden yellow hue somewhat hazy with a 1/2 inch of head. Lacing is decent giving me some stick to the glass.
S - Very herbal sort of English IPA with tea leaves and sweeter hops highlighting. It doesn't smell too sweet so I assume there is some hop bitterness under there.
T - To me it doesn't really come off as an IPA more like a hopped up pale ale. Sweet malts and tea leaf bitterness meet citrus hops and some gram cracker crust. Even has some bitterness on the tongue but that might be the Hoppy Feet I had earlier.
M - Light to medium, easy to drink, session able indeed.

Overall like all the other clown shoes beers this one was sort of worth the single price ($3.50) but I would much rather have the Galactica for the same price and a more crisp balanced hop experience.
