I will getting more of this beer.
A - Nice and dark, cannot see through it at all. Excellent! The pour produced a nice medium brown foam about 1/4" to 1/2" thick which shrank to about 1/16" but it never dissapated, very nice. As the taste went on the beer left legs in the glass which shows the hops involved, again very nice.
S - Hints of chocolate, coffee, malts but nice and clean not musty as some of these beer types can be, very nice.
T - Awesome! All of the flavors mentioned in the SMELL seem to come together as well as a splash of alcohol. Nice finish!
M - Very well balanced! Not too thick and not too watery. This beer always your senses to enjoy.
O - Great berr! I will be buying more during these cold winter nights! Nice name too!
I was in Boston this past week and I did not see this beer offered at the local taverns, reason?

A: Pours a dense black with a medium amount of tan head. A tiny ring around the edge retains along with some surface film, leaving a few spots of lacing here and there.
S: Strong sweetness and roasted bitterness. Smells burnt, sweet, and a bit boozy.
T: Sweet and bitter, with hops coming in towards the finish. Finish is dry, bitter, and lengthy.
M: Full bodied, medium prickly carbonation.
Overall, it's pretty good, and gets its complexity through being strong and having lots going on. If you like that, this is worth a try.

Recently bottled poured into a snifter. Allowed to get to room temp throughout the tasting.
A: Pours a thick black/VERY dark brown viscous with a 2 finger dark mocha brown head. Great head retention with nice lacing on the glass. Carbonation is evident.
S: Surprisingly some slight piney notes, along with slightly burnt coffee, roasted beans, chocolate. Really sweet aroma, and most are muted. Not overly aromatic.
T: Sweet sweet piney notes, man really sweet esp as it warms up. Getting a slight coffee bitterness, with some raosted malt and slight coffee taste.
M: Thinner than I would like but does have a nice smooth creamy feel. My sips tend to change as I drink depending on the volume/temp of the beer. Goes from a VERY sweet mouthfeel to a quite harsh bitter finish.
O: Pretty meh, not terrible but below avg for a ten dollar bottle RIS. Stone's IRS blows this out of the water for example and is only ~$6 a bottle here. Slightly disjointed, thin body and the flavors are muted except in the sweet/overly bitter areas. also off put by the piney aromas for an Imperial stout. Wouldn't buy again, nor would i recommend it. However not the worst RIS out there, and if you're a Clown Shoes fan boy I would imagine you would check it out.

Bomber to glass.
A: Pours black with 1-finger thick mocha head which leaves semi-rings and spots.
N: Roasty, dark chocolate with some vanilla and hints of dark fruits and floral notes.
T: Roasted malts, smokey with a slight char, cocoa powder.
M: Full body and medium carbonation. Thick and rich. Roasty finish.
O: Straight forward RIS. I prefered Vampire Slayer.
